Parkway Chevrolet Reviews

  • Mar 30, 2017

Over a two day process my wife and I purchased two vehicles from Parkway Chevrolet in Tomball Texas. First the sales process, nothing but games. They changed the discounts available from Texas Truck Month Television ads to reduce the number of trucks that were available at a discount. Then the price kept changing on the vehicle that did qualify, they have two websites that they use to trick customers. They have a second site, other than Parkwaychevrolet.com, which has different prices, different discounts which makes the price higher. That makes it seem like the discount is larger when in fact they just raised the price on you. I questioned them on this and they replied that the internal staff had not updated the site yet to the new higher price or new discount. Second, we picked out a truck and Tahoe, we forced them to sell us the truck we wanted at a discount rate, or so we thought. We fill out the paperwork on the Tahoe while the truck is being worked on. We go to lunch, come back and they sold the truck to someone else. They used the truck to get us to sign for the Tahoe, and then took away the truck when we returned after lunch. NOTHING but old school, slimy, hard sales tactics. They offered other, lesser models in its place and said it was a simple mistake. We ended up buying a 50k truck with minimal discount, after all of the back and forth and going back on promises we were worn down. They won and we bought the expensive truck with minimal discounts.

The worst part of their treatment came when we had to return the Tahoe. The financing did not go through and we had to return it. First, it took them three weeks to get our trade in back from the auction. This seemed strange as they were allowing us to put miles on a very expensive vehicle when all they had to do was pick up our SUV from the auction. After three weeks, when they drove our vehicle to the front of the dealership, I noticed right away that it had been in a front end collision. The bumper had four areas of damage with two holes in the plastic from the impact of the accident. The dealership said that it was like that when we sold it to them. I asked to see the photos they took when they appraised it, without even looking at the file the manager said “they are not in the file”. I asked if it was standard operating procedure to document any damage on a trade in, the manager said yes. And again without looking in the file said, “there is no form in the file, it disappeared”. Someone had made a very bad attempt at repairing the damage to the bumper, it now made sense why it took three weeks to get the vehicle back. This was a 2012 Escalade in very good condition, there was no body damage to the vehicle when we traded it in.

In addition to not taking responsibility for the damage, they put on over 200 miles on the vehicle while they had it. When I brought this to the attention of the managers on site, they insisted no one had driven the car. That the only miles came when they drove the Escalade to the auction. I asked where the auction was located and they replied in Houston. There isn’t a location from the dealership that is over 200 miles round trip, they simply lied. I again asked to view the photos that they took when they appraised the vehicle, they disappeared. I asked to see the inspection report, also mysteriously gone. I asked to call the owner or general manager who were not on site and I was told that they were the ones in charge and to take my car. I refused to take it, they threw the keys in the car and said "I hope it doesn't get stolen" as they walked away. I was also told if I made a scene they would call the police for trespassing. I never raised my voice, never used profanity, never did anything to receive this kind of treatment and embarrassment. The manager in charge refused to do anything and was extremely arrogant and condescending about the entire situation. It was humiliating.

I want to spread the word on their treatment so no one else receives this type of treatment. NO ONE should be treated like this, there are two many other auto manufacturers and Chevy dealerships out there to put up with this.

In fact, I want to hear from anyone else that has received bad, dishonest, fraudulent service and treatment from this dealership. You can email:

I think they mistook my inability to get financing for 125k in vehicles for not having the wherewithal to fight back. The dealership will never change their ways unless people take the time to say something, fight back. BTW, I am not an attorney although I do employ two of them in the companies I own, I am just a very pissed off and tenacious entrepreneur that is tired of being screwed.
