O'Brien Garage Doors Reviews

  • May 14, 2016

I was referred to this garage door company by someone I work with and II previously had them come out and repair s door opener that kept going out within it's 5 yr warranty due to that company that put it in was related to GDS and there were many problems with them as well as being on our local news. They fixed it a few months ago and it went out again so I chose to have them come back and install a new door opener. The man who came out I could barely understand him. He had me move the opener over on a ladder for him. Asked for water and left his last water bottle in my grass when he left. (I have video cameras on the exterior of my house) He told me the flopping handle on the door was normal. I've never had a handle from the opener track to the door flop and make such a rattling noise except this one. He told me don't touch the beam hardware and they stay lit all the time.

They were blacked out this morning. This opener was installed Wednesday 5/11/16. It hits the ground hard. I called them back yesterday and set up a time today and they said they would call and give us a 30 minute window today. They never called back. They took the $463.32 out of my back account by debit on Wednesday 5/11/16. The guy showed up today at 5:16:55 today and met with my spouse. He told my spouse it took him over two hours to get here due to traffic. He told his office he had been here for over two hours "trying to get it fixed". They basically called me a liar (Anna is what she said her name was but Daniel / tech said Gloria) when I told her he wasn't here that long and when I asked him why he's lying he BURNED OFF from my home nearlly side swiping a truck. Again I have him on camera at his arrival time (above). They refuse to get a Mgr on the phone. He told the office the reason the door is clanky sounding and bouncing off the concrete is that the rail is bent. The rails are not bent and the door is NOT abused like that. Whe didn;t their installer say that when he put it in? He told my spouse that the rubber is no good on the bottom and they don't make rubber for them any more. HMMM! Sounds like he wants a new door installed by them. He didn't tell my spouse any rails were bent. He said the flopping noisy handle is "normal". I've NEVER had a loud shaking handle before since 1989. All of this two story business is not making any sense. When I call the office of course I'm upset that you took my money and now you want me to just go away. They say they can't slow down their LiftMaster opener to close softer and it'll just be like it is slamming the ground. The beam lights are on now so that's that. They didn't even test the door to make sure it would stop if a child walked under it. The installer told me after he unplugged the first opener and cut the wires to the beams then hooked his u "see it don't work, the wires are bad". I'm not a door installer but if you have no ower to them well, DUH! They say at the office after Anna / Gloria talked all over me that a Mgr would call me tomorrow and she hung up on me several times. I can't hardly believe in 2016 a new door opener can't be slowed down to close easy; a handle can't be adjusted to stop flopping and your beam lights that are supposed to be on 24/7 can't be checked. And learn to handle ANGRY customers that you got paid from in MINUTES who is one day later not satisfied with your opener or service. You took my opener, too. It's not right; it's not fair and it's just another poor service company and they are refusing to deal with it. I would not give their name to my co-workers after the way they have handled this.
