I had purchased from NCH a photo editor and a video editor. Thet sent me two different registration numbers for the photo editor ONLY. There was no video editor code. The checkout process to me is deliberately confusing.
Try to find a number to talk to someone because i didnt find one. Also the itemization on the reciept is vauge, I dont know if i was double charged or not. I was amazed that a supposedly reputable company could have such a terrible checkout process.
Im reporting this because I dont want others going to this company, go to some other business for your editing software
BEWARE OF NCH SOFTWARE! THE LICENSE KEY MAY NOT WORK ON UPDATES!
I purchased the lifetime home edition fo Photo Pad Photo Editor from NCH Software online. I assumed that any updates offered were included. I saw no mention that they were not.
6 months to the date of my purchase, an update availability notice popped up when I clicked on the software. I clicked okay to let it update, and when it came time to enter my license key, it says Invalid Old Version Code.
It also offers a reduced price of $24.99 for a new key for the upgraded version since the old key is no longer any good.
I paid $29.99 6 months ago, a reduced price from $39.95, for the lifetime version and it only lasted me 6 monthes exactly.
I wish they had at least warned me not to update.
I am filing this report in hopes that others might see it and not make the same mistake and fall for the same scam that I did.
For me, I guess lesson learned. I will never ever purchase any NCH software again.
Their address on the email when I paid was from Austrailia and they have an American Address on their website to contact by mail.

However, when I attempt to download any upgrades after 6 months, I get a message that "if you purchased more than 6 months ago you may need to purchase an upgrade to use the current version." If I purchased LIFETIME LICENSES for both VideoPad and WavePad, why do I have to PURCHASE upgrades?

It is a fraudulent bait & switch sales tactic to advertise Lifetime Licenses that don't include the necessary upgrades. Nor is it indicated on the purchasing page that Lifetime Licenses don’t include the necessary upgrades, or that upgrades are only available for six months.
The Package indicates it is a professional quality editing software with several features, Redording, Editing, Conversion of File types, and DVD burning,. Inside the box it indicates that it is several packages bundled into one.

When attempting to use the software, you are told you must purchase the module to perform the feature you believed you already purchased. No tasks can actually be accomplished by anything installed from the disk. You are required to give a credit card, pay and download for something you believed you already purchased.
I paid as much for this as I have Nero, which actually does what is advertises. It is a complete waste of money and a subtrefuge to would be purchasers who believe they are actually buying video editing software, because it is not.
I was pressing download so i can start doing gameplay for YouTube right when my desktop said this website is dangerous and it can harm your computer. When it said ''Would you like this system to make changes to your device?'' I immediately pressed ''NO''. They tried to scam me!I can't believe it!
