DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Had them for many years when owned by old owner. New owners are horrible. Been in house for 5 years. Had HVAC problems many times. Electric heat goes out every year. Both up and down units. The a/c units go out every year. Both up and down. They come out. Do not repair. Take your money and tell you they can't figure out the problem. They do replace the capacitor every trip. That's just a quick fix. Now they have blackballed me. Saying I refuse to do what they recommend. Omg. Don't you think I would do anything to get cold air or heat. Problem is they send the same guy out who can't figure out the problem. I asked for a supervisor but was refused. I would bring up how the old owner would not let this happen. A/ C out again today. No help. Bought a brand new interior system last year from Nations. Since they dropped me they don't honor that warranty either. This company was great under old owner. This new group is a bunch of ripoff con artists. I have a good friend that they just shafted him on plumbing. He wasted $900 for a warranty program. He cancelled immediately. STAY AWAY. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Called them because my ice machine in my freezer quit working. Their vendor, BHB Appliance Services changed some sort of chip. They told me to give it a few hours to start working. It never worked. After numerous attempts to correct the situation through Nations Home Warranty, it never got fixed. During this process, on more than 5 occasions, Either Nations or their vendor, They didn't return calls to set appointments, or missed appointments. This went on for about a month. All the while having to go to the store to buy bags of ice. Nations refused to send another vendor. So I'll be hiring someone else to do the work, sending Nations the invoice and a demand to pay letter. How can a home warranty company have such bad vendors, and still say in business? By the look of all the bad reviews on here, it seems likely they will be out of business soon. I'll be doing all I can to help that happen with social media reviews, and word of mouth... especially to my family members who are realtors in the DFW market.
I am very displeased with the practices of the company and I have had exceptionally awful customer service from one of your operations reps, Elizabeth (which is why I sought someone else to contact).
We had an issue with our AC recently and the contracted company, Element Mechanical, put a quote together of all these parts that needed to be replaced in addition to the broken compressor.…. Long story short we got a 2nd & 3rd opinion and none of the extra’s they insist are required are actually required. When we called to ask them to only fix the necessary items they told us “we don’t change quotes – if you don’t like it make Nations give you a buyout and deal with it yourself”. I just don’t feel like that’s an acceptable response from the only vendor Nations is partnered with in my area. When I explained all this to the rep, she basically told me “sorry. That’s the way it is” in about the rudest, most matter of fact, go f yourself manner possible.
Not only was she completely unconcerned with my very valid request to not replace parts unnecessarily she was also the most condescending and rude person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with on not one but two separate occasions. I asked for her supervisor, she refused to give me any information. I asked how to process the buyout; because no way will I let a company with such poor practices touch anything in my house, and she said “I will process it”. I asked the process, she said I just do it. I said can you email me to that affect she said she would. No email has come. I am just fed up. Not once has Nations actually fixed anything I have called about. Not once.
In addition, I have spent a couple hundred in service fee’s on a repeat plumbing issue that never gets fixed – I have had to call them out every other month since we bought the house 6-7 months ago. They never look for the source of the recurring issue, they snake the cleanout and leave. That’s it. I have complained about it to Nations. The response is to quote the “24 hour cleanout policy” – why doesn’t the company try to determine and correct the actual problem?
This warranty is a waste of money and I have never in my entire life been so offended by how someone on the other end of the phone spoke to me as I was by Elizabeth. I will be sending a letter to the CEO of Nations about that in itself. It is unacceptable that I should have to tell an operations agent for a company I have paid to provide a service for my home, that I am the customer and she will speak to me in a respectful tone of voice and treat me with at minimum a modicum of respect. Unacceptable.
