First and foremost, the picture that someone else posted was definitely him. He approached me on 39th and 8th avenue and asked for directions to the nearest Whole Foods. He then complimented me on my voice and asked me if I do voiceover work.

The funny thing is I've heard this many times and to get into voiceover work, so naturally I entertained the conversation. He then said he worked for Nickelodeon and showed me his wallet with the front of the business card showing. He then asked me if I had a voice demo reel, which I do, but it's old.

So he suggested that he would help pay for a new demo reel, which is $380, but I can give him anything and he will cover the rest. Then we would exchange business cards and he would email me a press kit. The kicker is he answered a fake phonecall in front of me LOL, the phone "rang" but I did not see a number come up and he answered it and had a fake phone conversation with a woman who worked for NBC.

But once money was mentioned, I knew what was up and just insisted we exchange business cards as I have a bus to catch and I am not giving any money up front. He was trying to pressure me, like this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I told him that I can't give him any money. So we shook hands and that was it. I walked away baffled that someone tried to scam me, good thing is I am in the entertianmetn industry and I know to never give my money away.

He has been doing this for over 5 years, based off Reddit posts I've found, so please beware!
