Mike's Livermore Transmission Reviews

Absolutely the worst, most unethical business owner ever. My 19 year old son purchased a Jeep Cherokee from a man who said he had transmition work done at Mike's transmission. 2 weeks after the purchase the transmition went out. Mike said it was their mistake and they would fix it. He had the car for about a week and said it was ready. We live an hour + away and drove to pick it up. Car broke down on the way home. We had to have it towed back. He said they bent a hose by accident when fixing it last time and he would fixit again. This time he had it for about 2 weeks. We drove to pick it up and it broke down again on the way home. We had to have it towed again. This time he said the during the bad hose episode the radiator was damaged so he now had to replace the transmition (charged us $1,000 (as a favor) for that and had to replace the radiator. He had the car for over a month this time, all the while, my son who was working 30 per week in a town 20 min away by car and taking 13 units at college 15 min away in the opposite direction had to get rides or bike...a lot. Mike finally said the car was fixed and returned the car to my son.

The next morning he took it to the beach through the mountains in Marin. On the way, the car "bursted into flames" with my son driving!!! He pulled over on the mountain road and fire dept was called. The car was totaled. After dealing with the insurance company (my insurance went up even thought this had nothing to do with us) my son called Mike to ask for simply a refund on the $1,000 he paid for the transmition work. Mike refused. Needless to say I'm considering a lawsuit. In the meantime however, I told Mike I would not just let this go. He told me to do what I needed to do. Okay Mike. This is what I need to do. I want everyone to know that this is not a business nor a man to be trusted. His negligence could have cost my son his life and he never even as much as apologized. I'm not being over dramatic in stating this. It's simply a fact. Run don't walk. This business should be shut down.
