The ONLY thing good about Midnight hour movers is the name of the company! I used Umovefree for apartment locators and was happy with all of that up until they hired this Midnight Hour moving company to do the move. They were so bad that I won't ever go back to Umovefree because they should of done more research on these jokers! If I had time to read the Q&A part of MHM website then I would of been totally against using them. Didn't even know the name of the company til a few days before the move. From the get go one of the movers had a messed up attitude.
He was short with me and when they were trying to get my couch out the door he reminded us that he was in charge because he was the professional. Alrighty then, okay dude do your thing. The other man was very nice and mentioned that he was new at this company. I asked if it was safe for them to move this one floor lamp and if I should take the outer glass bowl off before moving it and he felt it would be fine. I asked that they take very special care of this awesome lamp because it is the favorite thing I own and the value is over 800.00. There is so many more things that went wrong with the 1st guy (Marcus) and his mad at everyone that he moves (it seemed, the guy is burnt TF out) attitude., But I am going to skip all that and get to the end when he broke my lamp.
They were fast to load my stuff but when It came time to unload at my new place one person stayed on the truck and the other took things off ONE AT A TIME. I called the 2nd mover over to let him know that anything over the set time would be working into the tip I was giving them. Still moving stuff one at a time so I went out to the truck right when the floor lamp was going over is what I felt like I saw but erased it from my thoughts because surely that cannot be what I think I saw. The lamp is on the floor sideways and this lamp can never be on the floor sideways because it has elephant tusks holding the bowl where the light is, plus is weighs between 50 to 80 pounds. I was in shock and tears and I yelled "WTF!!!!" and Mr." I am a professional" picked my lamp up and put it on his shoulder and turned to me and said "what" as he hit the side of the van with the elephant part of the lamp, I heard it break and so did the people that were there watching this jerk. IT WAS SO INTENTIONAL!!!
He knew that he was going to hit the truck with it. I started freaking out, called the company and said now what. He was going to call me back and never has. My chest of drawers was turned upside down nearly after he told me the drawers do not have to be empty for them to move it. At one point I was talking to someone else in the room and Marcus turned his head real fast and said "what!" in a shitty tone. I was like dang dude I was speaking to someone else. What an attitude! who needs that type of help, why add stress to my day? So when he was done I asked what are you going to do about the lamp. He first acted like he didn't know it happend and said it may of been that way before, even though we watched him and heard it break. Then he said I should of read the rules on his website and I would of known to take the bowl out of the lamp and I said why wouldn't you have mentioned this tio me because I would be happy to move it myself.
He said basically it was not his problem. Never said he was sorry or anything. he was a total p***k! Told me to go to the website to make a claim. they pay ,60 cents a pound on what they break,. I am furious with Umovefree for not screening movers better. My guess is the reason for his bad attitude is he gets asked the same questions Over and over and is obviously sick of the business/questions. What he , and when I say he I am speaking of the owner!! The 1st guy was actually the OWNER of this company . he fails to understand that moving is a huge thing for people. THAT IS MY LIFE you are tossing and breaking as if it is nothing of value. Things that cannot be replaced. So I will ask the questions I need answers to. You should be respectful!
