I first met Darrell Hornbacher in February of this year, as I was seeking help with my credit report which need improvement. I quoted the most expensive fee out of all the companies I spoke to. I agreed to his services after he explained to me the process in which his company fixes bad credit reports and that he had over 40,000 satisfied customers. He also provided me with references from his LinkedIn page of people that claimed he helped. He said his process is to work with the Data Reporting Agency that supplies the Credit Bureaus with the information for the credit reports. Because of this process, he claimed, it would be faster than the typical credit repair that works by disputing with Trans Union, Experian, and Equifax. He also told me he had the best attorney in the credit repair business, that is why his fe of $3,851.00 was so expensive. After speaking with Darrell I agrees to move forward with his company. I sent him a $2,000 upfront payment and he said the platform was built and sent off to his attorney. He never reviewed the work that was going to be done with me or sent me a "Tally Sheet" that was described in his contract.
After several weeks of noticing that nothing was happening with any improvement on my credit I reached out to Darrell for an uodate and a timeline and he kept providing me boilerplate answer as to why things haven't improved with my credit. Things like it takes the Credit Bureaus 45 business days to respond yet on the actual website for the Credit Bureaus it states a 30 day window for disputes. He also provided with an address in Santa Clara, Ca when I pressed him for additional information on his arrotney, whose name was Bruce Sands according to Darrell. I bet you can see where this is going. I at the time thought everything was legitimate but over time all frauds are revealed as was the case with Darrell and Midas Financial.
Here is the fraudulent activity that Darrell perpetrated against me:
It turns out the attorney Bruce Sands was really a gentleman whose name was Brice Sands, but he wasn't an attorney, he was a gentleman who runs a credit repair company
Darrell outsourced the work that he initially claimed he was doing himself
Darell sent me an email that appeared to come directly "from the analyst" working on my case, but it was completely fabricated.
The credit repeat process being used on my credit report was a standard dispute process with the bureaus that every other credit repair company does.
Darrell represents himself as a successful businessman in the world of credit repair and small business funding, however he is really someone who savy enough to use the Internet to proper up that image.
After realizing what the truth was I filed a dispute with PayPal to get my $2,000 back. When Darrell found out about the dispute he threatened to sue and said he "emptied out the account linked to the PayPal transaction and I was going to see a dime". Turns out that was just another lie. During the actual dispute process with PayPal he actually demanded I sign a letter of silence (Non Disclosure Agreement) and I refused. He said that was the only way I was getting my refund. That too turned out to be a lie. I did get my refund back. I am posting this entry to prevent Darrell from defrauding someone else. Even as recently as early this week Darrell threatened to have me arrested for extortion because I approached him with a settlement amount for me to agree to sign his Letter of Silience (An enforceable Legal Non Disclosure Agreement). After I approached him with that proposal he agreed to the settlement amount I proposed and claimed his attorney wanted me to sign a letter stating my intentions and send my identification back to him. Though interestingly enough I didn't receive that communication from his attorney I received it from Darrell. I think Darrell doesn't have attorneys working for him. After consulting with my attorney who is real and I have on retainer, he advised me that this forum was a good way to get the word out about how mush a fraud and a dishonest person Darrell Hornbacher is.
