I scratched another persons car and was quoted a $800 repair bill. Since it was below $1,000 I said use my insurance company mercury insurance because it's under $1,000 it won't go on my record.

Then the mercury adjuster came and jacked up the price to nearly $3,600 for a tiny scratch in order to increase my premium for the next 5 years! This stabbing me in the back!

Mr. James Tarvis has been Harassing Me And Threatening To Cancel My Paid Up In Full For One Full Year 2nd Insurance Policy For Invalid And/Or Illegitimate Reasons!

When I purchased this Insurance Policy for the Temporary Construction, around March-April Of 2017, Mr. James Tarvis NEVER TOLD ME THERE WAS A DEADLINE for Friday, May 5, 2017 to Complete The Construction.

Had Mr. James Tarvis been Honest and Upfront from the Very Beginning And Told Me There Was A Friday, May 5, 2017 Deadline,

(Instead Of Just Trying To Sell Insurance Policies And Make His Commissions), then I would have NEVER PURCHASED THIS POLICY!

This Is What I Call A Very Misleading Way To Sell Your Insurance Policies And I Can See Why You Do Not Have Many Good Reviews On Googlecom And You Are About To Have Another One From ME!

During A Very Recent Conversation With Mr. James Tarvis: I told him that I had hired a California Licensed Contractor named Dave Watson from Watson Builder to complete this Very Short Project and we are working with Mr. John Jaegers who is a Senior Inspector from the Los Angeles Department Of Building And Safety who is carefully monitoring this project until the Very End and it is Mr. John Jaegers who is Setting The Time Frame Of When The Project Should Be Completed and Nobody Else!

In Reality, this Project will be Completed In Full Sometime In June Of 2017 and Mr. James Tarvis is Refusing To Accept This As A Straight And Honest Answer!

Furthermore, Mr. James Tarvis is acting Very Unprofessional about this and he and his company Were On Their Way To Getting Sued By ME!

For Example, Mr. he is Making False Statements By Stating That One Of The Cars And Motorcycles Is Non Operational And He Is Asking Me To Move Them To Prove That They Are Still Operational.

Well, how would HE Even Know This For A Fact If He Does Not Even Live There?

When we discussed this, he first asked ME to have the two (2) vehicles MOVED from their parking spots, then he Changes His Mind and tells ME that it would be better to have ALL OF THE VEHICLES PARKED in MY PERSONAL AND PRIVATE BACKYARD to BE MOVED!

All of Mr. James Tarvis's Demands have been Extremely Inappropriate and Very Offensive to say the Very Least!

Once Again, if he was Clear and Upfront about all of this from the Very Beginning, including his deadline of Friday, May 5, 2017, then I would have NEVER PAID FOR THIS FRAUDULENT, FAKE & ILLEGITIMATE INSURANCE POLICY!

Mercury Insurance stuck me with a $4000 bill for an accident that was NOT my fault and would have been entirely reimbursed by the other insured party. I had been with Mercury Insurance for 27 years with never an “at fault” accident, I was assured by Mercury that if I went through their “Mercury Insurance Approved Body Shop”, all work would be guaranteed to my satisfaction and handled by them. As a working, single mom in a full-time accelerated master’s degree program, I decided to trust Mercury to handle the situation—as my time was limited. BIG MISTAKE…I am disgusted and appalled by what they did—and did not do!!!

First, I went to their “approved body shop”, Pacific Elite in Fullerton. I was told by their inspector to DEFINITELY make sure that my car was put up on the rack to look at the suspension for the damage that caused the immediate loud and metal twisting sounds coming from the front end of my car and the obvious visible damage he saw with my suspension—camber off, etc. (I am NOT a mechanic and have no clue about this stuff, I am just repeating what their inspector told me.) It was a t-bone collision to the rear axle, driver side of my stopped vehicle--my Kia Soul.

I rented a car (covered by the other insured) and took my car in to get the dent fixed and the suspension issue taken care of. After picking up my car, I drove 15 feet and realized the loud noises were still coming from the front end of my car. I pulled back into the parking spot to get the body shop manager in my car to hear the noises and to ask what he found when he checked the suspension—as promised. The manager, Sean, said that he “didn’t look because it wasn’t from the accident”….so, without checking the suspension--as his OWN inspector said he should, he determined that the damage was NOT from the accident. Hmmmm. Convenient and messed up!!!

Two days later as I was driving to school and one block from getting on the freeway, the whole front end seized-up, I couldn’t steer, brake, or drive—could have been killed! I called Mercury to ask what to do, and since my “approved body shop” had apparently NOT looked at the problem (basically refused/neglected to address the issue), Mercury said I could take it elsewhere. I asked where to have it towed, and since Sears was only 2 miles away and they had done most of my maintenance—recent brakes, tires, alignment and more, Mercury agreed. After renting a car, I had my car towed to Sears (after my class was out at 11 pm). Mercury gave me a work order. Sears looked at the damage and said it was definitely from the type of accident I described—since they knew my car. Work was started and when I came to pick up my car, I discovered that a “Mercury” inspector had come by, and stopped the repairs--claiming that the damage was NOT from the accident. This game went on for three to four times, where without ever notifying me, the work would be approved and then Mercury would send someone out to “stop” the work—even an “Automotive Forensic Engineer”!!!! Never once was I notified. Meanwhile, I was in a rental car covered by the other insured’s policy. After 30 days of this shenanigans, Mercury said the damage was NOT from the accident and they retroactively stuck me with a $1500 rental car bill at a civilian rate of $30 per day. I paid to have my car repaired by Sears to make it “safe” to drive--$1500, and I drove it to Kia and had the damage fixed in a few hours with a $75 part, plus labor.

SHAME on MERCURY!!!! I went to small claims court and they had a one inch legal file against me and called the accident “normal wear and tear”. REALLY!!!!!! So 45,000 miles is suddenly “normal wear and tear”. Funny, that my complete recent maintenance which included alignment, new brakes and the works did not pick up the LOUD and crazy damage from the “normal wear and tear” that they claim was the issue. First, they (Mercury), said the damage was from the “impact” of my slowly driving into my garage and having a basket scratch the front bumper. Then, they said it was from a slight curb rash to my hub cap (3 miles per hour)…the pictures of the “impact” were so ridiculous that I guess only ‘normal wear and tear” was left! They did this to me when they weren’t even responsible for payment—the other insured was paying for the damage. This is wrong and shameful—ABUSIVE and WIMPY. They lost a NO RISK, LOYAL multiple policy client of almost 30 years.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Attorneys out there….Class Action Law Suit potential? Please contact me. This is wrong. Thank God, my daughter wasn’t in the car with me…would that have been “normal wear and tear” if she had been injured? SHAME ON MERCURY INSURANCE!

In April of 2016 while I was inside the store shopping, I was paged that another driver had hit my car. The woman was elderly and while parking damaged my passenger side from front to end on my Lexus SUV.

Her Insurance was Allstate. I totally relied on my insurance adjuster to handle everything since I was totally glueless.

After the car was repaired and I nspected it there was additional damage not yet repaired. My claims Adjuster advised me to return the car for completion of repair and to lease a car with the promise for reimbursement upon completion.

Needless to say, it is now 4 months later and I still have not received my refund, in addition there was also a refund due from the original repair period, also for car leasing. I submitted the invoices 3 times with the promised for 4 months of getting reimbursed. The contact information given to me within Mercury either didn't exist or is not answering my calls and messages. I am on social secuirty and 350.00 dollars is nearly 30% of my social security check.

Ms Stacy Walker was the original Claims Adjuster, and she was helpful and diligent, but I picked up that she was limited in what she could and could not agree to. I have been with this company for nearly 12 years. This is 12 years too long.

Mercury Insurance does not qualify his Claims Specialist. Jerry Wenze did not give a good service, He did not about the claim IY012021-81, He contacted many companies to came to my house only for look, they charge 811.00 and 512.00. I called in many opportunities that the companies that He sent me was very agressive and did not do any job, it was september 15, 2015. Those two companies Jerry Wenze call me for put a cover in my roof, But they did not put anything, the company that Jerry Wenze Look and leave.

On September 18, 2015 the ceiling of my living room was in the floor. I called many times and He did not attention, only told me that sent me more companies to came to my home. I explain that I do not need companies to work. Please do not sent me, but He was upset and told me that I must to acept companies that He sent me. I would like another specialist more competent that I can talk with him. He only call me for intimidate.

Please sent me another Claim Specialist. I paid very years the insurance for my home, at lease we need somebody to help me, no this kind of person.
