I was ripped off by Mayan Palace and I could not find my way out, my membership was already paid in full and I no longer wanted to pay the maintenance fee, because it was becoming more expensive. I had the lowest category of each and every one that told them that I wanted to cancel they told me that what suited me was to upgrade, but a friend happened the same and got into more trouble. There was nowhere to choose since most of the hotels they offer are all-inclusive and what they offer is becoming less and less quality. On the other hand I could not, nor wanted to pay the maintenance fee. I did not mind getting paid, I just did not want to keep paying. I was really desperate, there were people who told me not to pay, but I feared the legal consequences and mayan palace as I saw that I would not be able to access and buy another more expensive membership, and they told me that it is not possible to cancel and that the only chance was for me to sell my membership, which, after investigating, I realized that it's obvious why it's impossible and how I was going to get someone else involved in this scam, I would not feel good about fooling anyone else. My best option was to cancel, I did it through the Mexican company timeshare solutions, they did not charge me anything in advance, they also did not recover anything from my money, but from the beginning I told them that I preferred it to be quick, because I did not want to go any further paying more money and I did not mind recovering anything, it was a 4 month process and ready, no more debts with mayan palace, I made a big mistake, but thankfully it was for 5 years and not for 99 years.
Fui estafado por mayan palace y ya no hallaba la salida, mi membrecía ya estaba pagada en su totalidad y ya no quería seguir pagando la cuota de mantenimiento pues cada vez era más cara. Tenía la categoría más baja de todas y cada que les decía que quería cancelar me decían que lo que me convenía era subir de categoría, pero a un amigo le pasó igual y se metió en más problemas. Ya no había de donde escoger pues la mayoría de los hoteles que ofrecen son de todo incluido y lo que ofrecen es cada vez de menor calidad. Por otro lado ya no podía, ni quería pagar la cuota de mantenimiento. No me importaba recuperar lo pagado, solamente quería no seguir pagando. Estaba desesperado de verdad, había quien me decía que ya no pagara, pero temía las consecuencias jurídicas y mayan palace como vio que ya de plano no iba a acceder y comprar otra membrecía más cara, ya mejor me dijeron que no es posible cancelar y que la única oportunidad era que vendiera mi membrecía, cosa que ya después de investigar vi que obvio lo dicen porque es imposible y cómo iba a meter a alguien más en esta estafa, no me sentiría bien embaucando a alguien más. Mi mejor opción fue cancelar, lo hice por medio de la compañía mexican timeshare solutions, no me cobraron nada por adelantado, tampoco me recuperaron nada de mi dinero, pero yo desde el principio les dije que prefería que fuera rápido, porque ya no quería seguir pagando más dinero y que no me importaba recuperar nada, fue un proceso de 4 meses y listo, no más deudas con mayan palace, cometí un gran error, pero menos mal que fue por 5 años y no por 99 años.
3 years ago my husband and I went on vacation to Mexico, and naively bought what for us was an investment and business opportunity, but it actually ended up being our worst nightmare. First we tried to rent our weeks as they had told us, but all we got was that they rip us back again, a year later my husband got sick and we got complicated payments so we wanted to sell them back our membership as they had told us we could do it , But we were told that that was not possible, so we told them that then we no longer wanted the membership because we could not afford it and were told that not only could we not, but that we would also be penalized. It was the worst nightmare I was very distressed by the health of my husband and also had to worry about paying these abusive raiders of Mayan Palace.
Among my acquaintances, there is a couple who went through a similar situation with a timeshare and I was recommended by the Mexican Timeshare Solutions company, giving me good references and explaining how they had helped them, without hesitation I contacted them and as I had references I contracted them immediately, to My good fortune were our salvation, canceled our timeshare and kept us from continuing to pay those thieves.
I hope my testimonial is of help to other vacationers and think twice before getting involved with these stalkers, inconsiderate.*
3 years ago me and my husband acquire a membership with Mayan Palace, we think that could be a great idea to invest on a timeshare
We wanted the cancellation but the resort denied that possibility while in the timeshare presentation the salesperson told us that we could cancel whenever we want it, of course it was not true. Bad treatment and a misleading membership , the first year was fine , then the problems started when we received a extra charge from a service that we didnt used it. The cost of the maintenance fees, totally is a crazy price and out of our possibilities. I think that Mayan Palace resort is one of the worst places in the world.
We found Mexican Timeshare Solutions on a timeshare users group website and we hire them. I highly recommend Mexican Timeshare Solutions if you want an honest, responsive means of getting rid of your Mexican timeshare. Mexican Timeshare Solutions took no money upfront .I paid them after they sent me documentation from the Mexican court that my timeshare was revoked
You dont have idea how much I battle with those people to let me go out, all was my fault for not read the contract in time, but now friends you know it, so stay alert.
I bought a time share at Mayan Palace as an investment and was told I could use the equity to purchase a one or two bedroom. They have totally lied about everything they said they were going to do. They are impossible to contact. They said they fired the manager who originally sold the time share to me I do not believe that happend. The same sales person sold my Girlfriend a time share that I heard him say they would sale her time share for exchange for hers because she was trying to get out of her old one. She signed the papers and was stucked with two. They completely lied to her and continue to do so. She had not had any success in resolving her issue with the same time share company. She also had another couple that were friends of hers that bought and they were lied to and promised a bunch of stuff. Tired of so many lies, we found a company that cancel timeshares, we contact them for a free consultation. They sent us a contract where was established if they do not cancel our contract we do not have to pay anything to them. They got the cancellation of 2 of our contracts and they are working in our other contract. we are happy we the results and we want to share with others in order to avoid more injustice from Grupo Mayan.
To whom this may concern : I had the most horrifying experience at this place. The sales people are scam artists. We went to presentation on 6/26/16 for the timeshare resort there. They started at 24,900 for a two bedroom told them no no no many times. Then when we went down stairs. Another sales lady told us they had an available grand Mayan two bedroom suite available because someone had upgraded and they couldn't make profit off of it and would sell it for 8900 which would be $72 month financed. They said would be approved through Bank of America. I asked if it would be exactly what was promised upstairs and they said yes and only difference was the grander room.
We agreed as it was a wonderful deal compared to what they had upstairs. They came back and said that bank had not responded as of yet and because of that they would only charge us tax and closing costs which was $2822 but would need to be paid now.
We asked them to confirm that we were getting the same things and they confirmed and showed us pic of room again . After we went to sign noticed it said destino unlimited on paperwork and they said it was because that's the website used for vida vacations but not to worry they said we were getting all same things promised $699 only when used for the grand Mayan two bedroom suite , or we could choose to use only one bedroom for 499 or studio for 299.
They confirmed all and after we even asked them to show us what we purchased in the specific pic of what they said we were purchasing and they took us up. Today 7/6/16 I went to book a reservation and noticed that this expires in 5 years when they said it wouldn't , noticed it was not through vida but through something called destino unlimited , we were told today after calling that all those above things we were promised were for vida vacations but they had sold us something called destinos unlimited and that it was not those prices it was 1400 for two bedroom , 900 for one bedroom and 800 for studio. I'm completely dumbfounded on how everything they said was a complete lie!!!!!
They even went back to show us the room that we bought and confirmed everything a million times. How can these horrible people get away with this. We were robbed and scammed!!! Completely deceived! We were told we were purchasing one thing when we were purchasing something we had never even heard of. This is horrible and deceiving. I have no idea how a company that is worth so much would do this to their guests. We were looking forward to taking our family and friends we had loved it and you guys took us for all we had. I want our money back because we did not get what we purchased.
