We purchased a dog from Steven Nash in 2009 . He is licensed under the name MaxoMagic and is currently breeding cao's in Middletown NY . After our personal experience and through networking with other owners/rescue organizations we feel the need to report him to the proper authorities for animal abuse and poor inbreeding resulting in many genetic related illnesses. Our dog not only had hip dysplasia, but droopy eyes and heart defects which are common due to improper inbreeding practices. This man is profiting off the sale of sick dogs- our dog had 2 major surgeries at 1 year of age and had to have plates and screws in his elbows and hips. He had a total of 5 surgeries before the age of 2. He was constantly sick due to a poor immune system. We later notified him of our dogs condition and he simply said bring him back and you'll get one free of charge. He was just shy of 3 years when he died ultimately from cardiomyopathy, his father died at 5 years of age.
Through networking we also found out that another dog from the same litter didn't make it to their 3 rd birthday due an enlarged heart. These heart conditions are common effects of bad inbreeding. It's also rumored that the breeder injects sick puppy's with pain medication into their hips so they appear healthy when customers come to look at them. When puppies are no longer of age to be sold instead of turning them to shelters he is "rumored" to shoot these animals dead. Mr Nash has been accused of knowingly inbreeding genetically sick animals for decades. Through research he was suspected of inbreeding and profiting fromTibetan mastiffs knowing that many of them were suffering from CIDN. I can only speak on behalf of what my family went through, and have the medical records to prove it, but proper authorities need to look into this mans breeding practices . Also injecting animals and shooting them when they are no longer "profitable" has to be a form of animal cruelty. Dogs are suffering and dying due to his inbreeding practices. He needs to be stopped no animal should have to endure such abuse.

I picked up their business card from a retail business where two very sick caps are present regularly as their owners own the establishment. I am sickened by the condition of these animals not only their physical appearance but their overall demeanor as well. I wanted to take them home and help them but I figured I’d be of no use to them in jail
I met Dan Nash back when we were getting our Methadone treatment, in Middletown NY. I was pregnant and he gave me a free dog . I loved this big guy very much . He protected me . Dan told me how his dad would dispose of extra puppies in the woods or worse .
I had to take him. But when I gave birth ,I gave him away. To a man I crashed with ,who was also homeless. Can not remember his name, I had to give up my baby . I may never get her back. But I'm trying. But I need to know if my dog made it .
Dan simply did what his dad ordered him too . He was trying to save them from him. My dog was to be sent with others to a puppymill in Pennsylvania ,they were partners with .
Her name is Anna. I found convictions on her so recent I think my dog died. i just need to know ,please help.
