Matthew Kenney Cuisine Reviews

  • Dec 7, 2016

I signed up for the Matthew Kenney Cuisine Culinary Academy and arrived at first day of class. The teacher was terrible. He was late to class, spent half the time on his phone and didn't pay attention to students. Every day we learned the same thing and didn't get to know anything new. After this kept happening every day for a week I asked for a refund to the course. They told me no refunds and said they didn't care about my experience since I already paid. They don't care about their students or the level of education. They say anything to get you to sign up but then they don't care anymore about you once they have your money. Please don't waste your time and money with this school.

Scammed

Be sure to only sign up for 1 class at a time. They will not refund anything.

On July 12, 2014, I signed up for the September 2014 session of The Fundamentals of Raw Cuisine. On the first day of class, I informed the school that a mistake had been made. I was induced into participating in a program, which I had already completed a large portion of and paid for as part of the weekend intensive I completed in May 2013.

I spoke with the school’s director, Megan Dunn, and we agreed to a resolution in email in the form of a monetary credit for the level 2 course. Later when I tried to sign up it was denied. To date, I have been unsuccessful in dealings with current and past employees of the company to achieve resolution.

In October 2014 I enrolled to assist to Matthew Kenney new Culinary Academy to be opened in Miami in October 2015. I enrolled a year ahead to benefit for the 20% early discount enrollment and because I have accomodation availaible in Miami. Before I enrolled I got daily emails from people asking me lots of wonderful questions that made me feel I was in good hands. Reputation of Mk culinary was high in Europe. Unfortunately, after I enrolled and paid, I did not get much contact. It was me the one sending them mails to ask questions. Finally they confessed they would not open Miami until January 2016.

Because of the delay in the opening of the school in Miami- which does not feed my schedule- I cancelled. According to the refund policy I have the right to get 100% of my money. I send my email and a certified mail 30 days prior the begining of the course and the answer was that they will be back to me in a month.

It s been almost two months and nobody contacted me so far.

There are rumors in Europe about financial problems which could explain the lack of answer when asking for refunding. So the new postulants should be aware before enrolling. We all know how hard is to build a reputation and how easy is to loose it if you do not pay attention to your customer service. In this part of the world this is more important than having a beautiful internet side with lovely pictures and great marketing design that cost a lot of money.

I am connected to many vegan prominent chefs and people that are really dissapointed with the image the MK school is giving, specially bein a defender of Veganism, and the moral that this movement is representing. Since MK is scaming and ripping of people he does not deserved to be where he is, nor pretend that nothing is going on, like it seems to be when one reads his internet site.

Very dissapointing!!!
