Market Traders Institute Reviews

  • Apr 7, 2020

I saw an advert of Market Traders Institute (MarketTraders.com) on youtube saying they teach Fibonacci trading. The cost was $4.95 to view the video about Fibonacci trading. There was an additional cost of $1 to access their environment. I paid access using my credit card.

After 2 days, I have not received anything from them. I then sent them an email informing them that I did not want to deal with them anymore – and I asked for a refund.

They came back to me saying that they have issued a refund – and it would show up on my account within a couple of business days. The refund was indeed made. I thought I would never have to deal with these scammers anymore. Except.

On March 23, 2020, I received an invoice with a charge of $US29.95 on the credit card from smarttrader.com. On March 24, 2020, I received another invoice with a charge of $US65, charged on the credit card from smarttrader.com.

On March 26, 2020, I received another invoice with a charge of $US99, charged on the credit card from smarttrader.com.

This company is linked to Market Traders Institute (MarketTraders.com). I sent an email asking who they were, and I got an automated email from Market Traders Institute (MarketTraders.com) saying they have received my request – and that they would get back to me in 2 business days.

Then I received a call from one of their asking if I am still interested in taking their course. I reminded him that I did want to deal with his company.

I have never accessed or used any of their services. And the fact that the refund was made is proof that I did not have anything to do with them anymore.

But even if I have asked them to unsubscribe from their mailing list and asked them to stop charging my credit card, they kept emailing me, calling me and charging my credit card.

Every time I try to talk to the billing or refund department so that they can refund me the new charges, they hang up on me and they don’t respond to my emails.

Stay away from, the Market Traders Institute (MarketTraders.com), MarketTraders.com are thieves, biggest scammers online. Please don’t make a mistake I made and deal with them. There are thousands and thousands of complaints about these scammers.

. The only thing they will tell you is “Obviously, the only way we can charge your credit card is because you gave it to us and confirmed it.

Let’s get together a start a collective action case against these basters. They don’t care about complaints online. They are thieves that are what they do for living. They have no shame

From the onset in May 2010, Will Goldenberg of MTI exerted tremendous telephone marketing pressure akin to harassment aimed at inciting me to take the forex market course at MTI.

a) He would repeatedly say all I had to loose was $250., the amount that would not be reimbursed in the guarantee.

b) He never explained the terms of the guarantee even if I asked. How can a novice understand MTIs unclear reimbursement conditions in the fine print without truly knowing what those conditions are? This is a scam trap to ensure that the client would never benefit from such guarantees.

c) He was quite pushy to get my signature and credit card number, exerting mental pressure to sign quickly even knowing I was reluctant. He said that if the Forex market was not for me after trying to learn, I would be reimbursed without question.

d) Furthermore, he said that I could learn it all through lessons at my own leisure at the rate of a couple of hours a day during a three months period.

e) He also knew full well that I would not benefit from the last condition of the onsite training because of travel distance and being cost prohibitive.

Practices resemble fraudulent telephone marketing practices preying on naive and trustful clients.

Once registered, MTI products started giving me problems in a complicated arrangement which was supposed to be supportive. From the onset, Andy Hall asked a few questions to supposedly create a rapport with the student but he had no time to listen to the answers; he would say that he would return to me and make promises of service that never came. He initially said that he would call in every Tuesday morning to check how the course was going and to answer any questions; he called once only. In your nebulous online distance education scheme, the client was expected to understand all the ramifications of MTI, the platforms used, the material presented, the operations of the institute, and to be available during daytime regardless of ones other daily occupations or work. This was contrary to the initial treacherous telephone sell.

In the three months, I repeatedly complained about the technical difficulties with the online course and its material yet very little was done to alleviate the frustrations caused by the misfit. The misfit as I explained was that there was too much to learn quickly in using the software, accessing the classes by phone, and getting clear direction as to the syllabus and its functioning. In fact, after a complaint to W. Goldengberg, he sent me the syllabus two months into the course. To my surprise, this seemed clearer than two months earlier but there was little time left to complete the course. I stated that my motivation was weaning given the complexity of the MTI system and the sheer high demand on my time; he said I should return to lessons 4 & 5 to learn the basics and that I could be placed on a one-on-one tutorship. This never happened. My expression was clear that I understood that Forex trading was not for me, naively thinking that a reimbursement was in order. Goldenberg said that I should instead learn the basics. I was funder the understanding (following his initial sales pitch) that if I didnt learn the material with confidence, there would be no questions asked and reimbursement was imminent.

Several weeks after further trials in August, I came to the conclusion that the MTI learning system was not leading to confident trading and that it would be ridiculous to continue.

I have found that MTI provided faulty technical support and poor instructor support. I was dissatisfied with the service and treatment from the beginning to the end. Every complaint along the way was not dealt with appropriately by MTI.

There are hidden costs associated to accessing a data bank on a monthly basis. Furthermore, nobody can truly understand MTI's garantee conditions at the onset because the client would need to know all the details of how what they entail, and more about how they are going to be ripped off.

I feel cheated and ripped off by MTI.

My request is for a full reimbursement as was verbally, initially promised by Will Goldenberg of MTI. Response was that I did not meet their garantee criteria.

So much for fairness and lies, so much for the great American dream and its cheaters, lies and conniving marketers.

Responded to online ad offering The Ultimate Traders Package, training in Foreign Exchange trading. Sat through several online "Go to Meeting" presentations, followed by telephone calls from salesmen promising a "no risk" trial and a free practice account. To get the UTP and the special "MTI 4. Charting Software" would cost $5000., but I could receive a matching grant of up to $750. plus a $500 discount by putting down a $750 fully refundable deposit and making a monthly payment of $174.40. plus I could save all 18% interest charges by paying off the balance within 90 days. After I signed up for the program, I was told that their programs would not run not on my MacBookPro computer, running MAC OSX, and that I would need to purchase and install some $99 program to allow my MacBookPro to run Windows XP. I asked if a PC with WIN XP would work, to which they said OK, so I pulled my old Gateway PC out of storage, updated it with new Virus and Firewall protection and tried to begin the training program, which was haphazard at best. I was immediately contacted by numerous other educational programs offering loads of free training in the Foreign Exchange trading market, and I struggled to try to get MTI 4. proprietary trading program up and running on my PC. It never has run on my PC and of course will not work on my MAC. My PC runs fine and there is no reason why the program should not run on my PC, except that nothing from this group seems to run as promised. I was told that I needed to take an extra course in "Scalping the Market" to make some fast money while I practiced the UTP program, so I signed up for this extra training, although it was to cost me an additional $1,600. When it came time to take that course, I was not allowed to start the course with everyone else, as more paperwork needed to be signed and by the time they got me all signed up for the course, it was about half over. They did say I may retake the class again on April 20, although by this time, they started excluding me from other so called "classes," which I feel was a very good idea, as I am no longer fascinated by this fraud. At the same time that one salesman is telling me I can take the April 20th class, I have an email from the supervisor telling me I am again "excluded" from training. No reason is given. When I told the salesman that I was canceling my membership, he sent me to a website where I found all of these other people who are complaining about this crapy outfit. I am only out about $2,000 at this. I am certainly not a racist and do not not consider myself anti-mexicano or anti-cubano. Pero, yo no soy touristo americano. Yo soy muy gracias, y ustedes?

I was told about their wonderful education and that they have a "learn to earn" program where they give you a trade from their system on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These winning trades help you pay back the program costs.

You are told that they don't win all their trades but they do win 60% of their trades. For the two weeks I participated in their calls and used their trades, I lost over $2,000 as their trades lost money and booted you out at your stop loss. One of the trades bounced back after you were knocked out and did go to where they said but you had already lost money and been kicked out at your stop.

Out of three trades they lost two (both of which I had participated in, I missed the winning one). They made me feel it was my fault I lost money because their "educated people" know how to go back in and recover the money they just lost.

I have been studying forex for several months and had played several practice accounts. During those months my practice accounts did very well and I averaged 2 losses per every 11 trades.

I'm not sure their target system is very accurate or their learn to earn program a very good deal unless you have the money to pay without worrying whether you make money or not. They send out these emails about all these pips captured and that if you know what you are doing, you don't have to sit and babysit your computer to see what the market is doing. Well, if I had babysat my computer one of the trades was ahead at one point and I could have gotten out with a profit instead of a loss.

I also received an email telling me how if I had traded on Thursday evening in only six hours I would have made 120 pips or $1200 in just one trade. That's fine if it happens and if you happen to still have any money left after two bad trades, but would you trust them? I don't.

I am glad I didn't pay for their education program or their trend setter program. I highly suggest sitting in on their webinar calls and play only with practice accounts. No system is perfect but you need to beware of the costs of these systems and risks.
