Lindsey's Nails & Spa Reviews

  • Jul 16, 2018

I had a gel manicure done on 7/7 that began to peel by 7/12. At first it was just a bit on the side of one fingernail so I decided to let it go. I thought I could be careful enough with it to squeeze at least two weeks out of my manicure, the salon's promise being 2-3 weeks. But now approximately half of my nails are chipping around the edges and feel rough. They are so chipped that when I comb or wash my hair, the gel gets hooked in my hair! One nail in particular is really bad; half of the gel is hanging off of it and has actually begun to crack. I asked several people who I know routinely get manicures what I should do - they said I needed to go back to the salon and ask them to make it right. So that's what I tried to do.

I only asked that they fix the nails that are messed up which, admittedly, at this point is about half of them to varying degrees. I would have been happy if they fixed the three worst ones honestly.

I said I only had them done last weekend which I figured would make it clear to them that something had gone wrong. They replied, "You said last weekend? It looks like they were done two weeks ago." They weren't agreeing that they looked overly worn, they were calling me a liar! Unfortunately for them, we live in a digital age - I checked in on Facebook that day. Plus, they write down appointments in a notebook next to the phone. Which I know because the man who did my nails is apparently in charge of the phone, so I got to spend half of my manicure watching him take more appointments than what they can actually handle. Talk about secondhand stress...

After denying that I'd even been there when I said I was, they said they couldn't fix my nails and then asked who did them. When I pointed him out, he took one glimpse at my nails and left without uttering a single word. They said they couldn't do anything, but they'd be happy to charge full price to try again!

This place is far from perfect, I honestly let a lot go - snarkiness before we'd even sat down, tardiness, poor communication, etc. The point at which I became genuinely angry is when they brushed me off, called me a liar, and allowed other customers - strangers - to chide me for having gotten gel nails at all. The bottom line is that I was told they'd last 2-3 weeks. If they'd tried to charge me $33 for 5 days, I'd never have agreed. And my mother in law, being more generous than is often deserved, still tipped them despite making her wait and being rude. A total waste of money on an undeserving business.
