A famliy's friend recommended Mr. Kamal Uddin to work on our home and medical office renovations. We met at his office and our place a few times with his subcontractor, Therrance Lionel. We decided to finalize the contract with him, mainly because of our family friend that seemed trustworthy. Its the worst nightware that we had gone through. It has been almost 10months, supposed to be 2-month renovations. We ve not yet moved into our home. My husband's bussiness had been closed for 6 months. We lost our business. Initially, Mr. Kamal seemed pleasant, knowledgeable & laid back.
Once the demolition was done, only 30% of the work, the evilness came out. He already got 50% of money but he demanded 70% of money or threatened to walk out if we don't pay. After much negotiations, he got 60% of money, he promised to continue the work but he walked out & left our place in total chaos with dust & debris.
Mr. Kamal Uddin's subcontractor, Therrance Lionel, pretended to be our savior & offered to complete the rest of renovations. It's another bait & another nightmare awaiting. He completed 80% of the home & office. We were so close to move in & reopening our office.
Now it's Terrance turn to torture of family during the cold winter months from November to January. He would stop working for weeks & doing very minimal work. I ve had heard all the lies, excuses and BS in the world to delay the work. We had toughen it out in thinking there's light at the end of tunnel. He demanded the rest of money & promised to complete our place. We paid him slowly to 100% but only 90% of the entire place is done. 2-month later, we found out from our new electrician, Michael, & the electrical company, Con-Ed, that Therrance illegally did electrical work in our place.
Con-Ed shut down our place's power for 6 weeks while Michael and his team rewired & correct the whole electrical system. We got our power back in May. While all this on-going, my husband, my 5-year old child and I commuted 1.5hours each way to work & school. Our tears, our anger, our sadness & our disbelief of how these men were so cruel. I ve no more words to describe these contractors. I would not ever allow another family or anyone going through this. I will call the TV media, report on the internet, notify the Better Business Bureau, contact District Attorney & finally work on a law to protect consumers from these crooks, scum of the earth.
