La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Miami Airport East Reviews

  • Dec 20, 2019

This complaint is a warning to all who are thinking about staying at this hotel. First, it is not locally owned. However, this location is corporate-owned which is why you need to contact the corporate office in New Jersey for complaints and problems.

Secondly, the hotel is very old, not well-maintained and there are large pot holes in the parking lot. The water pressure is extremely low to the point you cannot use the sink to brush your teeth properly. The rooms are only surface cleaned and not deep cleaned and sanitized. This is why you see finger and smudge prints on the tv, coffee pot, etc. There are also hairs on the floor in the tiny bathroom as well as on the shower walls. It's a nasty place to stay even for one night. But, if you are a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn person, this hotel is a step up for you.

Now, onto my issue from November of 2019. This is the condenses version. I dropped the key to my automobile which was parked in the parking lot somewhere in the common area of the hotel. After exhausting all efforts to find my key, I asked the front desk if it might have been turned in. The answer was no.

I asked the front to keep an eye out and let me know if it turned up. Meanwhile, I arranged for a spare key to be overnighted to the front desk. Due to an incompetent worker at a UPS Store, the key did not arrive until two days later, at which time I had already checked out. During those two days, I was in contant contact with the front desk, even leaving both my email and cell phone number. I also instructed the front desk to send back/refuse the package once it arrived so it would eventually get sent back to the UPS Store.

This never happened because a front desk clerk named Bonnano signed for the package and kept my car key for themselves. The UPS Store refuses to accept any blame for the issue and the general manager of the LaQuinta on 42nd Avenue also refuses to communicate with me. I filed a police report with the Miami-Dade Police Department and gave Bonnano's name as the person who stole my car key.

He can ignore the police all he wants. But, I am staying on my case like flies on s***. If this employee and LaQuinta believes that they have gotten away with victimizing a guest, then Cubans are dumber than I ever thought. The corporate office also received a certified letter from me explaining what happened and who stole my personal property.

I hope that Bonnano is arrested and never gets another job working in another hotel anywhere in the United States. He's probably illegal and should be deported to Cuba along with the rest of his criminal element family.

It made no sense to steal a key to a car which was not even in the parking lot. But, theft for most thieves is about the inability to distinguish right from wrong. Ethical thinking is not part of their DNA. Now, you know what to expect with this hotel. Heed the bad reviews on the hotel website as well as the other travel sites; they're all true.

Many people experienced the same...low water pressure, dirty room, rude front desk clerks, and the television shutting off between 11 pm-11 am. Yes, this is true!!! And, there is no way to adjust the settings on the remote. If you want to watch something, you will have to do so with your Netflix or Hulu account on your laptop or tablet.

I plan to provide updates to this post as my case progresses. Stay tuned...
