On July 13 I contacted Key Hair Concepts about a Brazilian blowout that I seen on Groupon her advertising price was $85 when I spoke with Ashley Keys who is the owner I asked her if she can give me the Brazilian blowout that seals split ends she said yes she charges an extra $25 I said that was fine she set my appointment for July 14th at 7 a.m. for Brazilian blowout I have the confirmation letter At 7 o'clock I arrive at Key Hair Concepts where the owner Ashley Keys was there too do my Brazilian Blowout. I sat in the chair and I was speaking with the stylist and she was putting the solution on my hair when I realize that it smelled a lot differently than the Brazilian blowout that I normally get and she just said yeah it's pretty strong. I then told her that I had just dyed my hair earlier that morning she said that she wished I had bot done this..her reply was very strange to me since I had always dyed my hair in the same manner and it even says on Brazilian Blowout.com which is the manufacturer's website that it's ok for me to do this and she says well still I wish you hadn't done that at that point she continues to put the solution in my hair and direct me to her sink so that she can wash the solution out of my hair at that point it dawned on me why is she washing the solution out. I'm accustomed to getting a Brazilian blowout where they put the solution in and then they seal it with the flat iron I asked her at that point what was she doing and I told her that why is she washing the solution out of my hair what type of treatment is she giving me. I said is this a Brazilian blowout and then at that point she tells me no it's not a Brazilian blowout and I said what do you mean you lied to me. She then state that its a straightening treatment or smoothing treatment that's comparable. I said is that what it says on the bottle? She said no. I said it's not comparable I asked you for a Brazilian blowout you told me that it was being shipped when I spoke with you last night and that you should receive it that night and that you would have it in and this is not what I asked for. I got up from the chair and my hair is completely straight. I naturally have curly coily hair and what a Brazilian blowout does is just elongates my curls. Which makes my hair very manageable I do not want my hair completely straight for a long period of time. At that point I said you lied to me I don't understand why did you lie to me. I said you know I'm not going to sit in this chair and let you ruin my hair any longer. Im filing a complaint because she put a different chemical in my hair that my hair was not accustomed to and cause damage and also for the fact that she is misleading her customers saying that she's giving them a Brazilian blowout when it's really another straightening chemical.
I have found this business on groupon and when I called to make an appointment for keratin straightening, Ashley asked me to pay her in person (because groupon will take half of her money). I pitied poor girl and agreed. It did not matter to me who I pay. 5 minutes before my appointment she texted my phone that she takes only cash because her credit card machine broke all of a sudden, and that there is an ATM inside the building, which was not my bank and took fees for money withdrawal. So she did pretty good job with straightening hair with flat irons. But after the first wash as if nothing has been done on my hair. I am doing keratin straightening for almost 3 years and know how it works. Even if it doesnt straighten the hair as a chemical treatment it still makes it look better and less curly. Also, before the procedure, when I asked her how long it will last, she said at least 3 months.
Normally it worked even for 6 months on my hair. I paid 100 dollars for thje service including tips because the hair looked nice (you are not allowed to wash the hair for 3 days after and aftewr 1st wash the result should ve very visible). When I came back to her telling there is no effect at all, she seemed to be already prepared to reply as if she knew I would come back. So she was absolutely indifferent and said: "I am sorry for your trouble". MY TROUBLE? Its yours material and your work!!! I asked to fix it and she said NO, then I asked for a refund than and the same indifferetnly she said no refunds, then started sending me links that keratin straightening is not supposed to straighten but just to smooth the hair. But what she did wevwn did not smooth the hair at all. I requested the refund again telling I will calim a file to everywhere I can if she is not willing to carry responsibility for the materials she is using and for the work she does, and she started threatening me back to file a claim for harassment because I said that she is having an unprofessional approach. Imagine what a service?! I bet this is just a part of her plan to rip off people. I even doubt she has put any keratin on my hair because absolutely no any effect, even 1/100 of it! and I bet she told on purpose that I should pay cash because this way I cant return my money.
