He claimed to be an advertising executive who had just sold his house and wanted to rent my short term rental house for 75 days until his new condo was completed. That all turned out to be lies.
He convinced to rent it to him outside of airbnb platform because his company was going to pay for it. It was my mistake to agree to that. He gave me a $500 advance and said that his company was going to give me a cheque the following week for the rest. But once he moved in, he never paid another penny. He kept giving me lies after lies every day on why he didn't have the money. I eventually called the police to get him out at which point he claimed that he was a tenant even though it was a short term airbnb rental all along. The police said that they couldn't do anything because it was a landlord tenant board Ltb) issue and that i had to file an eviction application with the ltb. Now he now owes me close to $10,000 of unpaid rent while i wait for the ltb hearing.
Some may think of this as a case of a deadbeat tenant. But this person has a history of defrauding people from the us to canada. And his intent all along when he rented my short term rental was to move in, not pay rent, claim to be a tenant because he knows the police won't be able to evict him, and use the case backlog at the ltb to live for free for 8 months. He even taunted me that i couldn't do anything to him for 8 months.
Be aware of him. As there are many reports of him on this site and on redflagdeals.com about frauds that he and his son alec has committed against other people. He has also been arrested convicted in florida for grand theft See links below) which is probably the reason why he fled to canada.
His son was even arrested for breaking into two different pizza joints in brampton and mississauga See links below).
