Just Pets sells puppies from puppy mills. Specifically, a male Lhasa Apso from BJ's & Guys LLC (Sharon Munk, Menlo KS). BJ's & Guys is listed on the "Horrible Hundred Puppy Mill Report" and received multiple USDA violations and official warnings over multiple years. Examples of these violations include but are not limited to a shih tzu with red swollen eye and copious thick discharge, pomeranian with scabs and hair loss, pug with eye disorder, lack of adequate vet care, dangerous animal housing, and excessively hot conditions in two large kennels (91.9 and 87.6). Business Information Business Name: Just Pets - LoneTree Address: Lone Tree, CO 80124 Phone: (303) 662-8900 Complaint Details about 30 days a go I bought two puppies from Just Pets and they told me they were healthy. they gave me 5 days to take the puppies to a vet designated by them and 3 days after purchase I took the puppies to the vet and based on a behavior I was seeing from the puppies which was desire to eat their own droppings. with consultation of the vet we decided to run a stool test from both puppies. 1 day later the test results came back to be positive for parasites in their stool. I immediately put them on medication and contacted just pets NOT to get reimbursed but to ask for their help to resolve the issue because in my opinion they clearly sold me sick puppies in the name of healthy puppies.
so, I sked them to help me with the vet cost or take them back to make them well then I bring them back into my home or just simply exchange them with two other puppies. I left them with those choices. that's when the seller, store manager, kept telling me about the contract and once puppies are out of their store it's not their responsibility and things like that since the conversation was not getting anywhere with her, she suggested to talk to het GM who was available at their other store to talk to me on Monday. so, I called the GM on Monday and started conversation by what the situation was and asking for he helping hand in this matter so the situation can be resolved. she kept telling me the same things as store manager did and when conversation was not going anywhere I decided to report them to BBB.
It has been 3 weeks since first report to BBB and no response from them either. During this time i have been constantly involved in taking care of sick puppies and ways to expose Just Pets. the more i dig into it the more bad things i learn about them that they might me involved in purchsing puppies from puppy mills cheap and jack up the prices and sell them at their store. the puppies they sell are filty and smelly. they smelled like urin when i brought mine home. but now i understand that they are not being taken care of at the store. puppies did not get sick in my home and transmitted the paracite to the other puppy witing 3 days of them coming into my home. clearly they were sick while at the store.
in their contract they mention exactly what they will not be responsible for and guess what! the puppies come home exactly with the disease they say they are not responsible for. so, i think they know exactly what is wrong with their puppies and they do not disclose it all at the time of sale and since you can not return them after purchase they are in the clear and you as a customer screwed with a sick puppy to take care of which explains why shelters are overwhelmed with puppies. all because of people like Just Pets. do not go to their stores and do not buy from/them. they are not clean, honest people. in the end you get screwed. go to shelters instead. shelters are more honest and they take care of their animals better than these stores.
