Julie Andrews and I got into a protracted litigation over the property. She won her case to evict me. Well sort of, I asked the judge to declare the lease null and void so that I could move out and collect my security deposit. Since Andrews was dumb enough to sue for eviction of a paying tenant, the Judge made a judicious decision and evicted/terminated the lease.

I won my case to have my security deposit returned and received a judgment from the Court in the amount of $4,040 plus interest of 6% per year. It has been more than 2 years and I have not received a dime from Julie Andrews despite the Court's judgment.

Got that? The Court ruled that I needed to vacate and awarded Ms. Andrews a judgment of $240 in Court Costs - which I promptly paid. The Court then ruled that Ms. Andrews was to return my security deposit and awarded me a judgment of $4,040 - $3,700 for the deposit and and $340 for Court costs.

After the trial, Ms. Andrews actually filed an appeal! Of course, she lost and the judgment of the Court stands. For some reason, Ms. Andrews contrived in her own mind reasons to abscond with my money. I presented my case to a Court of Law, and so did Ms. Andrews. The Court ruled. What more needs to be said?

In my opinion, Ms. Andrews is an appalling, pathological liar capable of perjuring herself under oath endlessly - something she did in our trial with reckless abandon. Thankfully, the judge saw through her particular pathology and granted me a judgment for $4,040. Why he didn't hold her in Contempt for perjury is beyond my understanding, given the number of times Ms. Andrews own testimony contradicted itself.

During my "investigation" in preparing for the trial, I contacted Ms. Andrew's handyman, and he put me in touch with 5 of her previous tenants (she owns more than a few properties in Boca Raton, FL). Not one of these tenants received their security deposit back from her. 4 of the 5 did not know how to go about filing a small claims court action. The 5th had already moved to Texas, and he did not feel it was worth flying back to Florida to engage Ms. Andrews in Court. He was THRILLED that I was doing so.

I also visited with all of the immediate neighbors who had similar impressions of Ms. Andrews and her business dealings.

I am currently filing a motion with the Court to force Ms. Andrews to answer, under oath, where her assets, if any, are so that I might go about enforcing the judgment. Should she fail to show up or perjure herself in the new case, she will be liable for Contempt of Court and criminal prosecution. I will let you know how that turns out.

If you have a dead beat Landlord just let me know and you can write a guest post. If you have had similar dealings with Julie Andrews I would be happy to appear at any Court hearing and relate my experience with this poor excuse for a human being.

I wrote to Ms. Andrews telling her that I would do everything within my power to make sure that people working in the Real Estate industry knew of my experience and the experience of Ms. Andrews' other tenants. I informed her that this wasn't personal and that if she paid me in full - with interest - I would take this site down. We both had our day in Court. The Court has made its decision. It is time for Ms. Andrews to abide by the Court's decision.

As of yet Ms. Andrews has refused to respect the Court's decision.
