Handyman did not complete work promised and insisted on final payment before completion. He pressured me to pay him deposit and I felt he would not leave until I did, so I paid him $700 deposit. At first he wanted $1250 and I said that's high, and he lowered it $150. After four hours, he was done for the day and didn't have enough wire to install new motion sensor floodlight and he said you can pay me now and i will return to finish. I felt pressured and wrote "upon completion" because that was in his proposal and repeated or circled that three times. He raised his voice and said "I NEED THE MONEY TODAY!" which was $400 cash he insisted on in addition to the $700 I paid for him to start. He worked four hours. He has not returned my text messages. I got a quote from Mr Handyman and his charge for half a day is $454 for a half day, so Jones' charges ($1100 total) were exorbitant. I can not speak at all due to voice box being removed and not only did I feel pressured, he insisted on balance before finishing job.
I could not engage in a robust conversation, and he took advantage of that. He did not replace dusk to dawn light and he did not install new motion sensor light. He cut two trees and his "haul away" was to throw it over the fence and much of the debris going onto neighbors property.
