Joe calls our agency about three to four times a year. The calls always start off the same, he wants to know if we can provide info on specific insurance companies. Then as you start to answer his questions he starts to interupt you and tell you about how the carrier in question and his current agent are ripping him off. If he is calling on an auto policy the mo is that the current agent doesn't even know what a vin is or a binder. If he is calling on a home it is that he is being unfairly cancelled. Red flags for any agent. The first time he called i tried helping him with his home and spent a half hour listening to his rant and trying to calm him down so i could help him, before he refused to give me enough info to quote him. In all cases he will argue with your answers to his questions and he will tell you he knows a lot about insurance. We have created a client file and now track his calls so we can defend ourselves against any bad review he might post. We just hang up on him once we realize it is him, which only takes a couple of minutes.

His linkedin account matches with the info that other outscam people have said about who he works for. Based on my own searches they match up with what little info he did provide me. Save yourself some time and make a note in your client file if you ever get a call from him, because he will call again.

I have an insurance agency. I got a call from some guy in California who claimed he was looking for insurance on a residential property in Illinois.

At first he didn't give me any information about himself or what he wanted. He spent at least 10 minutes telling me how smart he is, and how he knows everything about insurance and everything else. Then he wasted even more time interrogating me about the companies I represent, and answering his own questions before I could even breathe.

After about 15 minutes of listening to this guy convince himself that he's a genius who knows everything, I interrupted him and asked what I could do for him. He said he had a residential property in Illinois and needed insurance for it. After spending more time talking about himself, I interrupted him again and said I can't help him without some information. I asked him for the property address and he reluctantly gave me an address. I asked for his name, birthdate and address, and he gave me his name and business (I assume) address, as Joe Hale of Signal Hill, California.

After I got off the phone, I spent 2 hours searching for the address to his rental property, and found it does not exist.

A few days later I received a call from the same guy--he has a very distinctive way of speaking so you get to know his voice--and he immediately started the fast-talking mind-numbing rant about how great he is. I said wait a minute, didn't you call me the other day? He was silent for what was probably the first time in his life, and I said "yeah, you're Joe Hale". He quickly hung up.

I googled this guys name and found he has ripped off dozens of people. Watch out for this guy. If he'd commit insurance fraud, he'd do just about anything else. Whatever he wants from you, you won't get paid for your work. I'm hoping the police or FBI gets tired of this guy and hauls him in.
