Jessica Horton Reviews

I am an elderly and handicapped woman living in Louisiana. I contact Mrs. Horton via email about using her as my agent. I am preparing to retire and would like to move closer to my daughter. I found Mrs. Horton on a site called Active Rain that hosts many agents from all over the US. I was referred to the site by my daughter.

Hortons website certainly made her seem like a very nice young lady, but when I emailed her I found her to be pushy, rude, cocky, and arrogant. She insisted I give her my phone number, and I told her I wasn't comfortable with that just yet; answering the phone is difficult for me, and speaking in general is hard for me. I explained to her that I have lung cancer.

She refused to have anymore communication with me! She boldly said that she only represents people that cooperate with her and give her any contact information she request. She would not however give me her cell phone number so my daughter could contact her, and she never, ever answers her office phone. She apparently screens all of her calls. Maybe she thought I was a process server.

After letting her know we would not be doing business due to her rudeness, I did a little research on the web and found several sites that showed her to be of low moral character. I feel very fortunate to have found this site.

My belief is that Mrs. Horton doesn't want people having her direct line because she's likely dodging creditors, if not process servers. She seemed a little tricky to me. I would suggest to anyone thinking of using her to do their homework, and ask her for her direct line, one she answers. You won't get it.

Jessica Wynn Horton is her name, and she rolled into our Bellevue Brokerage like the second coming of Christ. She had come from a little town named Griffin, a suburb of Atlanta Georgia. It was the summer of 2008, and the beginning of a long costly ordeal for my wife and I that continues to this day.

Jessica was hailed as a Godsend by the Brokerage owner, she was going to save the company, the agents, and perhaps even the free world from the real estate collapse that was just cresting on the horizon at the time.

What we didn't know was that she was also running away from a trail of broken promises in Griffin Georgia; as well as lawsuits, frozen assetts, and frozen bank accounts.

At the time, as an agent, I was on my way out. I didn't see the failure of the market and banking system as something I could afford to ride out. With two homes and three mortgages, I needed something a little more solid for income. I had just accepted a job overseas in Iraq and was leaving in just 6 weeks.

Jessica and Jason Horton needed a place to stay, they had rented a home from the owner of the company, and according to the owner of the company, her parents had decided to sell the home and would like it vacated. Jessica seemed to be the perfect tenant, someone I could truly trust with our home I had just 3 years prior paid $500,000 for. Never in my life have I been so wrong.

In a little more than ninety days my home would be in shambles, and Jessica Wynn Horton would flee the State of Washington owing me over $20,000 for rent and damages. This would be the beginning of an oddysey that would last years, and cost my wife and I a fortune.

After being in Iraq just 4 months, I would have to fly home to clean and repair a luxury home chock full of garbage, rotten food, rooms full of furniture and worthless junk. All of this done to me by my own real estate Broker Jessica Wynn Horton!

Beware of doing business with this Broker,

Claimant's opinion: Jessica Horton is a local realtor who sends out attractive post cards to residents in my over-55 community. She touts herself and the #1 salesperson for our Del Webb establishment. I am a senior citizen who lives alone and became a victim of Jessica Horton's hype.

She promised to sell my home quickly. She told me my asking price was too low and that I should raise it. I responded that I desired a quick sale.

During the 3 months she has had my listing, Ms. Horton has come up with a myriad of excuses for her failure to sell my home. She said my carpet was not fresh and must be replaced; so it was removed and I paid for new carpet throughout the house. Then she said that a flooring allowance would have been more attractive to prospective buyers.

The excuses have been many; results have been nonexistent. Her latest excuse was that there was a dent in the stainless steel refrigerator door. Of course. that is not true. She told me that the dent was a dealbreaker and that everyone who had seen my house commented on that dent. I have pictures showing the refrigerator (as well as every single room, wall, and appliance in the entire home). There is no dent; the home has been professionally cleaned, pressure-washed, patched and painted. All these things I did and paid for at her urging.

As I was a first-time seller and lived alone, I also did not know that signing an exclusive listing agreement with a realtor who did not belong to the MLS was unwise. When I checked with other local realtors, I was told that Mrs. Horton is the only real estate agent in the state of Georgia who requires an exclusive agreement with clients.

I checked with other residents in Sun City Peachtree who had, at one time, Jessica Horton Real Estate signs in their front yards. I was told horror stories! Several had been harassed by Mrs. Horton and her husband after they indicated dissatisfaction with her unprofessional behavior AND failure to sell their homes.

One former resident had to call the local sheriff, who went to the Horton home and filed a "cease and desist" report against them.

It then came to light that Jason Horton, who had answered my phone calls as his wife's representative and given me advice as to selling my home, is a convicted felon and was not supposed to have been inside our homes. Mr. Horton spent two years in the state penitentiary form breaking and entering with a firearm. He is by law banned from entering a private residence unless invited in. I asked Mrs. Horton about this and she agreed that it was true.

Prior to all this, Mr. Horton called me one day and cursed at me for asking about something with the house. He screamed at me that he "didn't need my "sh*t" and wouldn't take any sh*t from anyone. He said that i should take my ball and go home, which I will gladly do as soon as my attorney has gotten me out of this "exclusive agreement"

Jessica Horton has emailed and texted me derogatory messages, all of which I have kept. I have filed formal complaints with the Georgia Real Estate Commission, the head of Marketing and Membership of the Georgia Multiple Listing Services, and the Head of Marketing with Pulte Homes.

It is my desire to prevent this woman and her husband from victimizing anyone else.
