Starting back on Monday, June 26th, 2017, there has had the same recurring issue with the heat pump unit. The outside unit just stops spinning. The first time it happened Jason Brubaker looked at it and found a loose ground wire. Jason fixed this wire and the unit ran for 4 days before the outside unit stopped spinning again. That same week on Friday, June 30th, 2017, the unit stopped working again. When I called Jason Brubaker to come look at the unit again, Jason tried to tell me that the unit was struck by lightning. There had been no storms in the area when the unit stopped working and everything else in the house was working perfectly fine.

Brubaker sent 2 of his sons out to look at the unit. While the 2 sons were here, the oldest son who was wearing a Jason Brubaker uniform and never introduced himself, was constantly on the phone with his dad as the sons looked over the unit. The oldest sons would ask his dad what he should be looking for and how to fix the issue. They found a blown fuse in the unit in the basement. Right before the sons left, the outside unit stopped spinning again. I made the sons aware of the issue and they came back into the house to relook at things. This time the sons found a different loose wire. Since Jason told his sons that the unit had been struck by lightning they wanted to charge us again for the same issue.

My husband asked the oldest son to get his dad on the phone. Once Jason was on the phone, my husband expressed his frustration about things not being fixed, the fact that the son was on the phone the whole time he was looking at the unit, and the fact that they were charging us again for the same issue. Jason kept telling my husband that the unit had been struck by lightning and they wrote the invoice up stating that so that we could be reimbursed through our house owners insurance. My husband tried to tell Jason Brubaker that there had not been any storms in our area and that our home owners insurance deductible is $500 and the amount Jason was trying to charge us was under the deductible amount.

Sometime overnight between July 12th and 13th the unit stopped working again. I sent Jason a text message letting him know the unit stopped working for a third time. At 7:00am I tried to call Jason Brubaker about the issue. Jason answered his phone and proceeded to hang up on me. After that, Jason keep sending my calls to his voice mail. When Jason finally returned my call he stated that he had talked to his sons and they did not want to come back to look at anything since my husband “scared” them. My husband did nothing to the sons. Everything my husband expressed was talked about with Jason, not the sons. Since then, Jason Brubaker is refusing to come look at the heat pump. My husband is willing to leave the house but Jason still refuses.

I have since had Lowry Services come look at the unit. The technician, Dan, from Lowy Services stated that the wiring of the heat pump looked like a hack job and it is the worst wiring job he had seen in his 25 years of working in heating and cooling. The Lowry technician, Dan, showed us wires that did not have any wingnuts on them, were just taped together with “orange” tape, spliced together in 3 different spots on a wire that went from the outside unit to the inside unit, and stated that the unit had not been struck by lightning at any time. Our unit is now fixed no thanks to Jason Brubaker. I would not recommend him to any one.

**** STOPPED THE CHECK AND REFUSED TO PAY FOR ANY FURTHER SERVICE. *****'S HUSBAND TALKED TO MY TECHNICIANS IN AN INAPPROPRIATE WAY AND CALLED ME INAPPROPRIATE NAMES WHEN WE WERE LAST SERVICING UNIT. ***** THEN CHOSE TO HAVE ANOTHER SERVICE COMPANY COME OUT AND SHE AGREED TO PAY THEM 700 PLUS DOLLARS TO PULL A NEW THERMOSTAT WIRE TO OUTDOOR UNIT WHICH DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURE REP TALKED TO ME AND TO OTHER SERVICE COMPANY AND WE AGREED THAT SERVICE COMPANY WILL GO OUT WITH MANUFACTURE REP AND FIX PROBLEM. I AM GLAD THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED. THE CASE HAS BEEN RESOLVED AND ***** AGREED TO PAY THAT AMOUNT. THERE IS NO LABOR WARRANTY ON THE EQUIPMENT AT THE TIME OF ISSUE.
