I received the door with a honey like sticky substance and foam all over the sides. Patrick, admitted the door was not really winterized and he had tried to winterize it by filling it with foam. He didn't wait for the foam to dry and it subsequently spilled all over the door. He assured me it wouldn't take long to fix, he even offered to pay for repairs.

The lock set he sent didn't even fit the door! He offered me a $200 refund for a crappy refurbished door and has sent me 100's of harassing e-mails since I disputed my credit card. I had every intention of sending him the balance after the repairs but he just kept insulting me and said he wants $1700 or nothing. We liked that Iron Doors Now also had a durable paint finish. We already knew most of what he said having done the research. Out of all 4 companies we contacted, he was the only one to follow up for our business, and we are so glad he did. The tipping point that made us choose his door was that they sold screens to fit between the open glass panels and the grill. The screen is so fine you have to go up to it to tell it's there. No other company we contacted had that. Even the hinges look great - they're beefy without being clunky. The price was reasonable given the quality of the door we got - it was built to last. Beautiful, Solid Iron Door. You can't find a better built Iron door for the price. The door is fully insulated and very heavy, Yet, the ball bearing hinges allow for smooth operation. Since our door was not a stock door, it took about 8 weeks to arrive - but it was well worth the wait. Our sales person, Patrick, kept us abreast of the delivery date and provided pictures of the door once it was complete. Delivery was easy as well. The door arrived securely crated on the pre-arranged delivery day (within a 4 hour window). Our Contractor installed the door in about an hour and we couldn't be happier. We absolutely love our front iron doors! Everyone comments how great it looks even though it's not a common choice for a Mediterranean style home. It feels grand and is bold yet understated, with it's clean lines and small rosettes. It's not a fancy filigree design, but it's not totally masculine either. They have many different styles to suit anyone's taste, from the common to uncommon. We liked that Patrick was very upfront and honest about how his doors compared to the competitors. We liked that Iron Doors Now also had a durable paint finish. We already knew most of what he said having done the research. Out of all 4 companies we contacted, he was the only one to follow up for our business, and we are so glad he did. The tipping point that made us choose his door was that they sold screens to fit between the open glass panels and the grill. The screen is so fine you have to go up to it to tell it's there. No other company we contacted had that. Even the hinges look great - they're beefy without being clunky. The price was reasonable given the quality of the door we got - it was built to last. I ordered a door and lock set for $1900 because it was the exact size I needed and was in stock, and was informed that the only reason it was on sale was because it opened outward. I then asked if it was winterized to which I was told that it was.
I received the door with a honey like sticky substance and foam all over the sides. Patrick, admitted the door was not really winterized and he had tried to winterize it by filling it with foam. He didn't wait for the foam to dry and it subsequently spilled all over the door. He assured me it wouldn't take long to fix, he even offered to pay for repairs. My contractor had his worker attempt to fix it- he spent a day just scraping off the foam (Patrick said it could be dissoved but it couldn't be). I then had an iron door with areas that had no varnish at all, the entire door needed to be sanded and painted.
Patrick offered to send his own painter (a guy he found in the phone book or on google) who agreed to paint the door for $150 that I would pay. The painter insisted that it needed to be above 50 degrees to paint the door and so the project dragged on an entire month holding up my construction. Finally he came only to inform me that there was no way he could do the work for $150, so I asked how much he needed- he said there was no way he was touching the door at all as he couldn't guarantee that he could have it looking as good as new, and he left. At this point I called my contractor who sent a professional painter to sand and paint. It took him multiple days and 2 guys to get this door in decent shape, and the paint, unlike an iron finish has a chalkboard effect and dirt clings to it. The lock set he sent didn't even fit the door! He offered me a $200 refund for a crappy refurbished door and has sent me 100's of harassing e-mails since I disputed my credit card. I had every intention of sending him the balance after the repairs but he just kept insulting me and said he wants $1700 or nothing. To add insult to injury, my father recently passed away and he sent me this creepy e-mail
