I got scammed and credit report screwed by Insight Pest (also d.b.a. Insight Pest Solutions), in Virginia Beach / Norfolk, VA about two years ago. A young man came to my door selling services Insight Pest Solutions services, talked it up, made small talk in between, lied to me, saying I'd get a service for $129. I gave him my credit card but he asked me to read the information to him because it was easier for him, so I did. Because they never actually touch your card so you can't say they possessed it. I signed his iPad 'contract' trusting that what he told me was all the contract contained (which was not) and said he'd email my receipt.

Look at the receipt and it says I just signed up for a YEAR LONG SERVICE, which was never mentioned by the walking door-to-door salesperson. The receipt says specifically "this is not a one time service. It's a year long service." It also says that if I cancel before the year, they have a right to keep that first payment of $129. I called immediately to cancel and had to leave a message. They charged another quarterly fee, sent it to collections and have mucked with my credit for more than two years.

On 12/21/2021 I called Insight Pest Solutions to pay a 'legitimate ' fee of what an invoice said was $151.79 (which I had to pay in order to be able to sell one home and purchase another), spoke with Joanna, who transferred me to Channelle, who claimed I suddenly owed them $537.79. I was furious at the fraud being perpetrated by Insight Pest Solutions against innocent consumers in VA, when the headquarters are in Morrisville, N.C., and told her I would pay the $151.79 as long as it was a considered a payment in full, and she agreed, taking the payment. I just learned that Equifax STILL has me 'owing' Insight Pest Solutions, which seriously jacks up ones' credit report as a 'collection.'

Please, people allegedly representing we the people, prosecute and shut down these fraudsters quickly and others that operate in this manner and give consumers compensation for damages, punitive, fiscal et al, done to them by firms conducting themselves in this manner and purposefully screwing consumers and being 'fine' with that.

I would give them a negative 5 stars if I could. The sales people hook you by undercutting your existing service providers price, in addition to telling you all of the "standard" extras their services provides.

You'll never get those services!

The person who actually came out to do the work was extremely condescending and told us we didn't need half the things the sales people who "don't know what they're talking about" (his quote) had assured us was part of the standard services. I had to practically beg him to get him to put down ant control! (He told me we would always have ant problems with our windows, with screens in, open.

I told him I understood that, but our ants seemed to prefer getting in under the kitchen door.)

The second service call wasn't any better. This service person was only here for 15 minutes total, for services in and outside the house. He seemed like he didn't know what he should be doing and didn't even cover the basic service agreement.

Oh and the reminder calls you are guaranteed you'll get in advance of a service call don't exist. We never got one, even after I stopped service they still sent someone unannounced, which I ended up having to pay for!

Trying to quit their services is expensive, I ended up paying close to $400 to get them to stop.

A couple of college kids came to the door, showed a brochure for Insight Pest Solutions, cheap intoductory rate, what's not to like? They said cancel any time no problems. Well, I cancelled after three "treatments" that were conveniently done when no one was around. No idea what they did, no inside treatment at all, just whatever they did or pretended to do outside. Received a bill for close to $150 each time. I had it, cancelled after three treatrments. I received a bill for $180, they said I had to pay the termination fee that no one told me about. I refused, said they needed too do better than that. I had to schedule a "final treatment" for $150 to avoid the fee. Had to insist that it be done on a Saturday when we were here to see what was done.

I urge anyone who is contacted by these theives to avoid them at all costs. Go with someone local, support someone you can contact if there is a problem, not some distant company that just wants your money.

Avoid Insight Pest Solutions! They are the pests and they will take you to the cleaners.

Sales person from Insight pest solutions came to my home to sell services. His name was Robby and his phone number was 860-969-1552. He was from the Cheshire office. He explaned that no contract was necessary and I could cancel services at any time but the complany recommended services 4 times a year. He did ask me to provide "gel pad" signature to give permission for the technicians to come to my home. First pest control visit went well but the second visit was the "bums rush" and problem areas were not addressed. 2 days after the second visit, we received a "collections" call because we did not pay the bill. The technicians from the second visit told us to wait to be billed. We eventually received a bill and both visits were paid in full. We no longer wanted future visits because the second visit service was so bad and we called to cancel. We were told that we could not cancel because we had a contract. I denied ever signing a contract but they sent me a type written contact with my "gel pad" signature. Now I am getting bills for promotional fees and services that I have not received. They have also threatened me with collections. I am also receiving harrassing calls. I did contact Robby and he admitted to some misundertanding at the central office and he would "look into it". Robby never got back to me and Robby no longer responds to my calls. I've been scammed.

After multiple treatments, we continued to have pests where they 'treated', including bees and other pests which the sales and others represented their treatments would control. Then they charged over $200 as a cancellation fee. Complete ripoff times 2.

He said I'd be getting a service for $129. Gave him my credit card and his story was "can you just read it to me, it's easier for me" so I did. See, they never actually touch your card so you can't say they possessed it. La dee dah, I signed and he said he'd email me my receipt.

It's a year long service." It also says that if I cancel before the year, they have a right to keep that first payment of $129. Yeah I'm stupid. Oh and I called immediately to cancel and surprise surprise, has to leave a message. And boy, did I. Chalking this up to a $129 lesson but they messed with the wrong person. Social media will bury you.

Knocking on my door on Memorial Day is insulting to those who served our country and died. You tried to solicit me on a day that isn't a day to be going around knocking on doors. Promising me the $80 and now you are saying the lowest you can go is $109? Not once in our conversation did you ever state this was a special for the one day you decided to knock on my door.

This isn't the best way to handle any customer, you told me you can match any price and then you go even higher... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. DO YOUR RESEARCH! Here is a statement from Cory McLain an Employee at Insight Pest Solutions

"I tried talking it over with my boss, and he said the 80 was our Memorial Day special. I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding, I got it lowered for you as much as I could to the 109, and that's the price for just the out side treatment, I'm having my techs service you for the extra pet treatments for free, and we will never shoot the rates up on you. We would love to earn your business, and help protect your home, and pets. "

I was hired to work for this company in October2015. I was given an insight ( no pun intended )to the back ground of the company by my former boss and current manager Brian Brown. I was told the ins and outs of the company by him and said the company was based on Mormons who went door to door recruiting people to join by college aged recruiters who were hired mainly because of their looks to sway people to sign up. From the start people were lied to and told a bevy of offerings that's unrealistic. That were basically just meant to sell people on a product they did not need. The customer was basically sold on the service stating they needed it year round. In four quarter installments. Basically all four seasons. Then told that they would check for termites using a screwdriver banged into an old tree stump. If the stump checked out for termites. They were sold termite monitors. The monitors didn't do a thing. They just monitored away. It was like getting a burglar monitor and watching yet never doing anything once you were in the act of a burglary. I worked along people who had no equipment to do the day's work. So instead of going back to the home office in Chesire the customer was told that the service was done even though it wasn't. To save time technicians never performed what they wrote on paper to the customer even though they stated they did it. Customers were told they needed the service in the winter as a precautionary measure which is simply not true. How can you spray for bugs that simply aren't there? It's a farce and as a co manager stated to me, a placebo. Workers were paid different wages every week. I made 4 different salaries in the three months I was there. It was a joke. Stay away from this company. Call T******* or O****. You will be better off. Plus the fact you should call only when you see an actual pest. Doing so as precaution is a retarded measure that does nothing. Worst job I ever had! Liars and thieves.
