Idea buyer agreed to terms in a contract to help launch our company blacklightposterkings.com. $ 5000 payment and no results. A 6 month prep period was the time stated for launch in retail stores and the internet. But nothing has been accomplished. Vague email responses and phone calls.

method to find out if they are crooks or serious in helping ...

When they request money up front (10,500 dollars) and 15% of profits, instead offer no money up front but offer 25%. It they truly believe they can make a success of your idea they will jump at your 25% offer because the extra 10% will translate into much more than the 10,500 dollars. If they insist on the up front money, you will know they are scam artists. TWW4

Please be warned,

If you haven't already found the bad reviews about this company you should probably do more research.

These young entrepreneurs are not a legitimate business and are set up to look as if they are interested in your product or patent for investing. They try to make their "initial offer" look legitimate. However, they DO NOT invest any money into your company...only their time. They so called "investor" who was apparently not affiliated in the company has told me he was working for the company. These guys are liars and scammers and are not transparent about what they do.

They scam patent and business owners into trying to partner together and charge them a $8,000-20,000 fee.

After 3 days of fake conversations, emails, and phone calls with these nonprofessionals they tried to pressure my business partners into making a decision on the phone. BE CAREFUL- these guys most likely record the calls and try to pressure you into accepting their fake terms so you can give up control of your company or give them authority to act on behalf of your company when really all their trying to do is take your company from you.

Extremely shady and try to scam you in every possible way to try and see how capable you are to sue them if they were to take your product and put out to market without you..Their not so smart in how they operate and are bound to get sued. In my case, I had them sign two Non-Disclosures and I will have my Attorney do thorough investigation of what just happened. Their offer letter is a joke as well claiming to offer you an A,B, & C choice...of which non actually them investing in your company. They offer to provide services worth of tens-thousands of dollars when in reality they have no proof of what products they actually got to market. Be warned- if you already had interactions with them or sent them any information..get ready to take them to court. We certainly are.

Great Salesmen - That's it

It seems I had the same experience as many other. I hardly sent them any information and was already told they liked my idea. They say they will pitch the idea to their team. I asked simple questions any team would research before jumping into an idea, and it was apparent they didn't do any research into the idea. To be honest, I don't think they pitched the idea at all. Guaranteed if you submit an idea they will "like" it. Once they get your money they win. They have your money and on to the next. Why would they really care if your project works unless it is the next Uber or Google, which lets be honest, it is not. Its a numbers game. Once they get your money, its on to the next sucker. They already made their profit whether your idea is created or not. I hate to bash them because my rep did seem cool. He was a good salesman. But if anyone truly likes your idea they will not ask for money up-front, they will want real equity. It seems they prefer quantity over quality. All I can say is do your research and don't just jump into anything, especially when it comes to $1000s. There are no short cuts. Building a business takes time and patience. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. I hate bashing anyone or any business because I am a capitalist, but I believe in an honest living.

And beware they are very good salesman and smooth talkers.

Fakes! Frauds! Deceitful!

I submitted a idea to a Idea Buyer and received a call from Ari Macellino a couple days after. He was polite and enthusiastic about my idea. He got right to the point, saying that he would like to learn more about my idea so he could pitch it to his team, however Ari said I would need at least $10,000 a $15,000 so they could get it patented and then licensed to a manufacturer. I stated that I didn't have that kind of money. He suggested finding an investor and Ari said he would be glad to explain the plans to him. I said that I might consider it. Ari said he was going to send me email regarding the plan. I haven't seen anything yet and I am glad that I didn't disclose anything to him as I have been through the similar fleece job by Invention Submission Corp. Beware and do research on anyone before you disclose anything or pay out your hard earned money to crooks!

I'm so glad someone forwarded me these reviews before it was too late. I am not even going to listen to their (so-called proposal). I'm running while I have nothing to lose. I don't want to be scammed and robbed. If it sounds too good to be true, it is!

It's a good con from what I have seen.

They shouldn't even have one star! I got close to buying the BS they gave, real close but I didn't do it, smelled a rat. I actually spoke to Facebook where they place ads, they are reviewing and if they find out what we all said is true, they will not be allowed on Facebook again. It's a good con, hard to get them arrested but I see it coming.

Idea Buyer LLC claims to be comparable to Shark Tank. Once they lure you in by raving about what a fantastic idea you have and all the ways it is destined to work, you'll pay $1000 just to talk to the CEO Eric Corl over the phone, who with dollar signs in his eyes will again rave about how genius your idea is and how he just can't wait to see the finished product.

They quickly want the remaining $6500 to "hurry the process" before anyone else jumps on it. Once they have the full payment and you sign their contract youre screwed. Communication standards are low. We're talking low motivation, low enthusiasm, slow moving to get you any kind of results which looking back over the 10 month period, which was suppose to take 6, the results were never really results but just giving us the run around for God knows what reason. In the end they just end up telling you that if you have the funds to pull it all off then theyre happy for you but if that was the case we wouldn't have hired them with the intent of giving them 15% of all future profits.

We looked into their local BBB at the time and they had a great score. But after suspicions arose we checked again and they were at a D-. We checked again a few months later and they were back at an A standing. Come to find out BBB is all about how much the company is paying into them, not about the consumers well being.

If you already have a lot of money to play with you might give it a try if nothing else for sole entertainment. We, however, are raising a family and now have about 4 years left to make monthly payments of about $200 per month, which as any family knows is not an easy feate.

Its unfortunate that Ari Macellino hooked us like this, most likely to make his monthly quota. But I sure wouldn't want to put anyone else thorugh this hell. Building someone up that much just to tear them down this low is just asking for Karma to bite them in the butt. Anyone so consumed with making money that they are willing to cause this kind of turmoil in families are less than human.

Making me an offer today

Hello. Today, Ari is giving me a call to make me an offer on an idea that I have. Everything you have said describes what has happened so far. My idea "is genius" and my idea can "last for centuries."

After reading this, I'm even more skeptical than what I have been so far. Sorry to hear how hard this has been for you. So you definitely suggest not doing business with them?

Result?

What was the end result? Did they ever follow through & deliver? Did you complete your payment or did you walk away? You mentioned in the end, you needed "funds to pull it off"...do you mean funds to mass manufacture your product? I'm still waiting on them, has been 7 months & not seen any real progress. Already paid them in full.

A spark of hope for help!

Anyone who has been scammed by Idea Buyer needs to email the Ohio attorney general's office. I have been dealing with Idea Buyer for 22 months and have no usable results. The last 6 months wasted at the bbb with no usable results, even with a mediated agreement. Months of pleading for help and none received from bbb. I now have a contact at the Ohio Attorney Generals Office who is finally listening. I have already spoken to several of Idea Buyers customers and told them to email Gabriel Kriz who is a specialist in the consumer fraud division at the Ohio Attorney Generals Office. You all need to email him! The more who email him, the better chance we will get justice! His email is [email protected] or call 614-752-7901 leave a voice mail if no answer or call 1-800-282-0515.

Sandy Cambell from Ideabuyer.com responding to your very concerning message.

Hi, my name is Sandy Cambell and I'm the client support manager for IdeaBuyer.com. I feel like it if very important that I respond to multiple parts of your email to open dialogue with you and to also give a voice to our company as we take the negative things you've said about us very, very seriously.

First off, you don't leave any type of name or contact info and this dubious Russian review site does not require it so it's possible that you are just a competitor or an adversary of someone within our company and only looking to libel us.

If you are in fact someone that did indeed speak and work with us, leave me your contact info and what phone number Ari called you on and I can pull the call. I'd be more than happy to review the call with you to prove that many of things you claim are just straight out false at the worst and put in the most negative light possible at the very best.

Let's take some specific things you claim:

CLAIM: Idea Buyer LLC claims to be comparable to Shark Tank.

RESPONSE: We don't claim to be Shark Tank in any way. Shark Tank is a T.V. show that is 10 parts entertainment, 1 part business. Many of the products they choose to be on the show are more for the dramatic effect than truly solid ideas. The idea that it's a good rule of thumb TO allow any one... even super smart "sharks" to make a decision on whether to invest in your business or not after 4 minutes of questions and a simple product demo is crazy. While it's inspiring, it's not how business happens normally.

We on the other hand don't care if the product makes for good TV. We don't care if our clients have the right "look" for TV or some type of gimmick product that the show needs to have so that Mr. Wonderful can rip them apart. If we think a product or app can make us all money, we look further into it, if we don't, we don't move forward.

We also spend a lot more time than 4 minutes reviewing your product and the market it's in before we decide whether we want to work for you. So your claim that we would even want to be like a highly dramatized yet very entertaining TV show is again, just plain false.

CLAIM: Once they lure you in by raving about what a fantastic idea you have and all the ways it is destined to work, you'll pay $1000 just to talk to the CEO Eric Corl over the phone, who with dollar signs in his eyes will again rave about how genius your idea is and how he just can't wait to see the finished product.

RESPONSE: We call it how we see it. If we think you have a good idea, we'll tell you. If you tell us you have a tractor beam that you're going to hook up to your spaceship that you have in your garage, we're going to probably tell you to have fun, say hi to Spock for us, and hang up the phone, never to call you again. If you shared your idea to Ari and he was positive about it, it's because he thought you have a good idea. If Eric thought the same, it's because he also did.

If you invested in your idea like you said, you as well probably also thought/think it's a good idea so why would you use words like "lure you in" and try to make us being supportive of your idea as if it's a negative thing.

Does Eric Corl have dollar signs in his eyes? Absolutely he does, we all do. We want to make as much money as possible for our client's products and for ourselves. If you're referring to your investment, well let's look at that. Your $1,000 you put down was a deposit on services and it was not to speak to Eric.

We have discontinued doing deposits with payment plans because if you are indeed a real person/client well it's because of people like you. We have found that people who do not have the full financial resources to help us with the development process of the product and to help take it to the finish line from the outset, they make more difficult clients. If you called us now and inquired to work with us and you only had a grand to put down, we would wish you good look and ask you to come back to us when you were in a better financial situation for us to then consider if it's a fit.

The fact of the matter is if you can only put down $1,000, you should really be focusing on becoming in a better financial situation and getting out of survival mode and not trying to start a full business and take a product from start to finish. We made an exception earlier in our business as we didn't want to shut the door to people like you but look what happens, you make anonymous complaints on a board that does zero fact checking with no way for us or anyone else know who you really are or what your real intentions are.

The sad thing thing is that your broke mindset and desire to lash out here could have effect on some financially capable, real entrepreneurs with great ideas to not work with us and that is a very, very serious matter and is why I've been tasked to respond to this... no matter how ridiculous it is or you are.

CLAIM: They quickly want the remaining $6500 to "hurry the process" before anyone else jumps on it.

RESPONSE: We give everyone as much time as they need to do their research or ask as many questions before we advance the idea for final consideration. Informed and well educated clients make the best long term clients. Does it make sense to try to be "first to market"? Absolutely it does, don't try to spin it.

Without you telling us who you are, we have zero way of checking on the work that was done. I invite you share your name and when you got started on here and allow us to respond with what was done. You may also contact me directly at [email protected] if you would like to do it privately but I would encourage you to start a dialogue with us.

If in fact we do find that your project was not moved as fast as it should have been, we'll address that and the people that were working on it, we do, as every company, make mistakes and if we did with you, give us the chance to check it out. If you're not willing to do that then all we can (and all everyone else reading this thread) should do is completely disregard this post as sour grapes or just a pissed off competitor.

CLAIM: We looked into their local BBB at the time and they had a great score. But after suspicions arose we checked again and they were at a D-. We checked again a few months later and they were back at an A standing. Come to find out BBB is all about how much the company is paying into them, not about the consumers well being.

RESPONSE: All websites break down and have errors from time to time so if in fact you did saw it as a D-, it was some type of error. No business goes from A+ to D- over night so this is just plain false.

We have maintained either an A+ or A rating for over 8 years. Anyone is welcome to contact BBB and confirm that. We did pay a fee to be reviewed and considered for their Accredited Business Program because unlike BS websites like this, they do in fact have to pay people to do more verification and to process issues.

CLAIM: If you already have a lot of money to play with you might give it a try if nothing else for sole entertainment. We, however, are raising a family and now have about 4 years left to make monthly payments of about $200 per month, which as any family knows is not an easy feate.

RESPONSE: This is another clear indication that you should not have been accepted to work with us and why we have changed our policies. There is no way we want a client who is struggling to have to make payments for 4 years... especially if you're not happy with us. Let us know who you are on here or email me directly at [email protected] and let's see what's going on, this is NOT the best way to go about this as a professional business owner who wants results with working with someone like us.

CLAIM: Its unfortunate that Ari Macellino hooked us like this, most likely to make his monthly quota. But I sure wouldn't want to put anyone else thorugh this hell. Building someone up that much just to tear them down this low is just asking for Karma to bite them in the butt. Anyone so consumed with making money that they are willing to cause this kind of turmoil in families are less than human.

RESPONSE: It is very cowardly to hide anonymously behind this website without giving us your name for us to defend ourselves and to directly call out one of our team members personally with these libelous statements. This is what really makes me question whether you are a real client or whether you are someone that he didn't invite to the high school prom or that he beat you out for a starting position on his varsity hockey team.

Our team members do not have "quotas" and for you to talk about building up and ripping down is just spiteful and plain false, why would we do that to a client? Ari is one of our top leaders in our company as well as a loving husband and father. Ari is hurt from these comments and out of respect for him and the integrity of our company, we could not ignore this post any more. I am standing out in the open with my full name and contact info, willing to try to make the best out of this situation even with this horrible post, why don't you?

You want to talk what is less than human? It's going to a website that allows anyone to say anything about anyone without any type of verification and directly libeling someone who is working hard to work with real entrepreneurs to help launch their ideas while trying to provide for his family just like you are.

I'll be waiting for you to contact us if in fact you are a real client, again my email is [email protected].

For those that want to read some recent FACTS about us, check out this Yahoo article about us being inducted in the INC 500 List as one of the fastest growing 500 private companies in the US for 2016. I

NC magazine uses 3rd party reporting sources to verify everything, completely the opposite to this hack website that allows these type of people to hurt hard working people like Ari and good intentioned companies like ours.

High pressure and rude

I was contacted several times regarding my invention. The person who called me was loud and obnoxious. He was immediately trying to set up a conference call with his boss who he said loved my idea. I asked specifics of what he liked and he beat around the bush. I was asked to commit to $8-$10k before the conference call would take place. I said absolutely not during the last phone call. I said respectfully that this is a business model that I could not commit to and I didn't want to accidentally make any sort of legally binding statement over the phone. I said that I would not make any decisions while pressured or being put on the spot. I would gladly have the conference call, but would not make a decision during the meeting. I was then told that I need them, they don't need me, was talked over, and belittled. I never went through with anything, so I cannot say if they are legit or not. My internal scam alarm was turned up to 11 on the dial though.

So I was contacted and asked $25,000 to initiate the process of making my idea real. I did`t disclose all information because I trust no one. I am sooooo glad I have read these reviews!

Got call from Ari to invest 10,000$

Hi Thank you all for your review, Its eye opener.

I have talked to Ari and he sounds very genuine with the same sale pitch like i seen others on review. He said to me his company really like my idea and also send me NDA. He call next day and asking me to invest 10,000 $ the rest his company will invest. He suggest me to take a loan from Bank as i am student and do not have much saving to invest. Good that i haven't mentioned my detail plan as he was emphasizing to do so. Not sure what to do now, felling little depress after long excitement to launch my idea :(

Scam-Scam-Scam

These People should be put in jail. Not only do they scam you out of your money but steal your hopes and dreams. They do not have the desire, intent, or even the capability to do what they say they will. Their letter of intent was never done, far from it, and what was done was childish.

DO NOT give them any money. Offer a percentage if you must and you will see them ignore you.

Liars and scammers preying on peoples dreams

Idea Buyer contacted me after I applied to get on shark tank, there must be a link between the two. Idea Buyer told me my invention was the perfect type of invention that they like to promote and bring to market. They sent me a letter of intent listing all the things they were going to do and said it would all be done within 6 months. They wanted 10,000 dollars and 15% of profits.I was foolish and agreed.

I took my invention to their facility and demonstrated it to Eric Corl, Idea buyers president and several others including Jess Mcpheron. It performed exactly as I said it would and Idea Buyer expresssed their desire to promote it and take it on. They also wanted my 10,000 dollar check which I wrote to them.

Here it is almost a year and a half later and all I have received is a logo, a product name, and a amateurish market report. No "professional CAD design or patent" that was supposed to be done in phase 1 of their letter of intent. Many other activities were undone also. When pressed for things to get done Jess always promised but never produced results.

I now know they are worse than thieves because they not only steal your money with false promises but destroy a persons dreams and make them feel like fools.

Stay away from this scam. Offer a percentage if you deal with them but hide your check book. BEWAREztyc

What are you going to do, when the FTC comes after you for Fraud and Violations of Federal and State law?

So, I already see and find all over the internet where Idea Buyer and their employees are being sued under a class action in federal court for violations of federal law. I also see and find all over the internet where the FTC is currently discrediting and ending Idea Buyer's main internet competition "World Patent Marketing" for violations of both state and federal laws. How is Idea Buyer's services any different than World Patent Marketings??? From all their customers positive review experiences they paid for, according to the court filings, I see no difference. I also see no difference from their negative reviews either. What's the difference in your services than theirs? What is the difference in the federal law violations and state law violations for deceptive business practice and fraud , World Patent Marketing has been charged with federally for their services, than the one's Idea Buyer offers??? Where are all the hundreds of success stories for your customers products for the last decade in business?? Where are all the products sold at in all the stores listed on your website for your services? What stores are successful products currently sold at, that have came as a direct result of the Idea Buyer dream/services??? You list tons of stores you advertise, on your website,as having direct contract services with. What products exactly do you have in any of the stores listed??? These are the types of questions the FTC will have for you!!! You get folks to give good reviews on every site known to man and on this one here as well. You talk about repeat sentence structure given for several reviews here, but fail to mention not one product Idea Buyer has launched in any major retailer listed on your site. Not one successful product mentioned sold in any known store anywhere. Why is this? The only thing we all read on this and other sites are the same exact reviews left by different names on each site that have the same exact sentence structure for any and all positive ones. All we read on every complaint site is blame put on the customer. There is not one complaint story listed on any site where Idea Buyer owns up to any mistake. Just claims and blame put on the customer who complained. Read the complaints at the BBB in Columbus and see the repeated Idea Buyer dialogue blaming each and every customer who complained. Somethings rotten in Denmark. Smells fishy to me. I bet the FTC will soon find the same!

Smells Fishy Because They Are Fraud Sharks

I agree with everything you've mentioned and just wish I would of seen all this 2 years ago. My story is the exact same as everyone else that got ripped off... 15,000.00 and got nothing in return but a run around from these scammers. I am really just baffled why these guys are still walking the streets and not behind bars. How are they allowed to blattantly fraud everyone... Like you said they can not produce inventions that they have taken to market... After I sent my money, that was the last I heard from them until I insisted by e-mail to update me... Then I recieved something my grand daughter could of done.... These guys need to be shut down and made accountable... How many cases does it take for crying out loud....

Complete Frauds!! Run Away if You STILL can!

I too have had a terrible experience with them. Everyone who reads these reviews, needs to be warned, before it's too late for them. Anyone who has been cheated/scammed by them should report them to the television news in Columbus,OHIO. Get the local news to help expose them, for what they truly are. Use the news channels in the same town they are scamming from.

100% Fraud

Idea Buyer is 100% pure fraud. They advertise as experienced and deliver inexperience. They advertise as professional and are 100% unprofessional. They will promise you that your product will be on store shelves in"about" 6 months and have you sign a 2 year contract. Once they receive your money, you will be strung along with incompetence, inexperience, and immorally unprofessional results that are passed off as contract deliverables, or until your contract expires. If you have been cheated by them. Contact the Ohio Attorney Generals Office through their 800 number online or email them online. Ask that your complaint be kept there, otherwise, it will end up at the BBB. Tell them you have already been to the BBB, or you will waste months with the same results. Nothing usable. They are currently helping me and other cheated customers. Now is the time to contact them! We all need to unite through the Ohio Attorney Generals Office. Now is the time for action and you chance for your voice to be heard! If you have been cheated by these scammers contact the Ohio Attorney generals Office Now. They are listening and helping many others now.

Seems like a lot of repeat comments from one person.

I came across this when I was just looking up the main site. At first I was concerned because I've been with them for 5 months and I have been happy. Then, looking through, I'm not convinced that all of these bad reviews are real. It is the same gramattical structure that seem to be coming from 2 or 3 people making a ton of negative posts.

I have been mostly happy with everything done and the 'BURN IT DOWN' posts here make me not want to have anything to do with the 2 or 3 people posting those comments. You may have big hopes and dreams of getting some pay day from suing but I'll tell you what, the only people who would make money there would be the attorneys. Look at how many times people take that approach and it only hurts other clients like me because it takes attention away.

Much better to work through issues when you have issues. Building a businesses is never easy. They've done great work. Don't be a troll.

Idea Buyers Jeremy Crutchfield Flim Flam Sham - Beware!! Columbus Ohio

Inventors Beware. . . . . . . Based on my brief experience with this company/individual, it's similar to the Timeshare Shame many have fallen victim to over the years. It's a high pressure sales method that goes like this: well present your idea to our board, if they like it (and I'll bet 90% get approved) we'll have one of our people like Jeremy call you and go over an agreement. We want your spouse on the line too because we want you to make a decision to invest $5-10,000 of your money for us to research the product, patent, etc. etc. by the end of the call. They refused to send documents over prior to the high pressure call, refused to allow my attoney to participate, etc. What a sham: you pay them $5-10K up front, for them to do a bit of internet research, with no way of knowing when there's no value in moving forward. Gee thanks. To top it all off, they provide names of people with the company but no education info and limited company, category info. There are some concenrs about the founder. Do your research and you'll stay clear of these scammers.

MY STORY WITH IDEA BUYER

I patented an invention and applied to get on Shark Tank. There must be a link between Shark Tank and Idea Buyer because I got a call from a Mike Corradini in Calif., an assoc. with Idea Buyer. He told me my idea was "an exclusive class of selected products" and wanted to work with me to get this to market. He outlined a long list of objectives that they would do to this end and wanted to get started immediately. He requested 10,000 dollars and a 15 % cut of profits.

I made a prototype and took it to the Idea Buyer facility in Dublin Ohio. I demonstrated it to their crew including Idea Buyer president, Eric Corl. It did everything I said it would do and Eric told me they wanted to promote it and bring it to market.

I asked and was told that it would be on the market in 6 months. I wrote the check. That was 9 months ago. To date all I have received is a logo, a product name, and a positive Market report. I think this could all be done within a week or two. I can't say I have been scammed yet however I am very disappointed with the amount of time this has taken. There is so much further to go. If this drags on past 15 months, I'll know it is a scam.....Stay tuned.

I own a Patent, and Tools that Enhance secondary oil production.

I contacted ERIC CORL, IDEA BUYER on the Internet. He is saturated on the web to buy Patents and Inventions, Ideas etc. Mr. Corl Purchased my Patent last year, and defaulted in May, after one year of Payments.

He owes $1,400,000. I am a Senior and not in great health. He knew this and continued to change payment schedules, tried to change from one year to five? He executed the Docs under his name and Idea Buyer. He shows a great Bio, and information on his website, Newsletters, Business affiliations, website and on the Internet.

He has failed in all that he advertises. Cannot contact him or his associates? This need be a warning to others.
