Purchased a Tuff Shed at Home Depot McHenry June 15, 2020. Took advantage of promotional financing, 24 months no interest.

At the store, checking out, I wanted to put down $3,000 and charge the remaining $4,000+ on the Home Depot credit card with the promotional financing. The coupon would not scan. Was told that it was because we were not putting the entire purchase on the Home Depot credit card. I asked if the coupon said that – was told it doesn’t but that’s the only way the coupon will work. So – the sales was voided and run again 100% on the Home Depot credit card.

The $3,000 check that was never used and was handed back to me at the time of purchase was cashed by Home Depot. I went back to Home Depot on June 28th to get my money back and was told by the manager on duty that Home Depot does not have my money and since I didn’t have a receipt showing it was paid, it’s my banks fault and I needed to take it up with them.

My bank recovered the unauthorized withdrawal by Home Depot and returned to my account on June 30, 2020.

There was two weeks that Home Depot had the $3,000 and made no attempt to return. Home Depot first denied having the money.

When I asked starting the beginning of July where it states on the promotional financing coupon that the purchase needs to me 100%, or exclusively, on the Home Depot credit card the Store Manager of the McHenry Illinois store sent me a copy of a completely different offer than the offer used to purchase the shed on June 15, 2020. When I again questioned in mid-July where it states that 100%, or exclusively, purchased on the Home Depot credit card again I never received a response. The Store Manager did then say that she needed to include her contact for Home Depot credit services. He also never responded. I emailed them a copy of the promotion used and received no response.

There is now 6 people on the email representing Home Depot. No one responded to my question.

Home Depot committed fraud by cashing my $3,000 check, theft by not promptly returning the unauthorized ACH, deceptive business practices with the interest free promotion when they required the whole purchase be put on the Home Depot credit card rather than spend over a certain dollar amount and bait & switch by forcing the purchase be 100% on the Home Depot credit card to qualify for the interest free promotion. This was all around bad business!

I ordered an Amana Dryer from Homedepot.com on April 30,2018. It was delivered to my house on May 4 at around 11 am. My wife was able to work from home that day and accepted the delivery. I came home from work at 8pm on this date inspected and installed the dryer. I installed it and found it to be none functional. I contacted the home depot helpline that I found on the website but the representative told me that I would have to call back the following day since the Manufacturer is closed. I did as instructed and called back the next day (9 am on May 5) and spoke with the representative who assured me that I would be receiving a replacement dryer. She told me that I would get a phone call within 24-72 business hours with a delivery eta of the new dryer.

I started to get worried after not receiving any phone calls after 48 business hours (May 8) so I decided to call and find out what was going on. The representative told me that I would not be receiving a replacement and instead they had scheduled a technician to come look at the unit on.

They already scheduled the repair date but not informed me of it at all. To make matters worse, I specifically purchased the dryer online with the home depot because I read that "Once delivery is accepted by a customer, product may be returned if defects and/or damage is identified and reported to The Home Depot within 48 hours of delivery day".

I followed Home Depot's return policy to the T, yet here I am stuck with a repair person working on this appliance that was sent to me defective from the store. I bought a brand new appliance with the gaurantee that if it was defective that it would be returned as it says it on thier website, yet when it comes down to it they do not follow their return policy. The technician came out today (May 11) and found the timer to be defective on the dryer and said he has to order it and will be back on May 18 to install it. Zero guarantee that this will actually fix the problem and now a third day will be spent on a dryer that was ordered brand new from Home Depot.

Buyer Beware. HOME DEPOT has false return policies listed on their website. ALL I wanted (and I have told this to every representative that I have talk to at home depot) is a return of my money or an exchange for a brand new dryer, just like their website return policy claims. To this day I do not have a working Dryer, no return option, and no exchange.

All I have is hope, that the technician's diagnosis is correct and hopefully I will have a working dryer two weeks later than the delivery date.

But who wants a brand new defective dryer straight from the store?

I purchased exterior home shutters from Home Depot in Daytona Beach. Home Depot gave my phone number to their installer who came out to install. I saw that he was having difficulty with the type of drill he was using for screws in concrete block. He also did not use the screws that came with the product. After he seemed to complete one window I noticed the screws popping out and realized he caulked all around the shutters as if gluing them because they couldn't stay attached the way he screwed them in. I told him to leave. He started throwing obscenities at me which was frightening. I immediately went to Home Depot with pictures and told they would take care of it. I've gone through nearly 16 communications in an attempt to be treated courteously and have this resolved and as of today I have lost all patience, am disgusted with the runaround, the ineptness I have seen with Home Depot installer and Comsumer Services.
