Green Solar Technologies Reviews

When I initially decided to buy solar panels, I contacted Green Solar among other solar companies. I preferred the Green Solar panels in comparison to others based upon quality of equipment and cost of equipment. I signed the contract on 12/29/18 to take advantage of the tax rebate program before the first of the new year, this is when the problems started.

I wanted to pay for the process without the financing option so the company signs you up with a ACH payment system that withdraws checks before each process starts. Should be fairly simple in the fact that every payment I have is drawing payment in this same fashion. So there are 4 times the payment is being withdrawn. Each time I will receive a Docusign email for signature, I would sign it and the new process would start.

The work would get done then I would get a call or test from a salesperson, project manager, general manager demanding payment because the ACH was declined. The money was always in the bank. So I would have to check my bank account and call customer service to ensure I wasn't going to be double charged. In the meantime I would be contacted several times daily demanding payment.

This continued until last week 9/8/19 when the solar panels were completed and I finally had to mail the last payment in. I realize circumstances create problems but to be threatened with liens, lawsuits and indirectly call me a crook or thief is unacceptable. I only wish I could meet these guys in person for 5 minutes.

By the way, the service guy was incredible but I have no idea if my system is working or not. I personally had to call inspections and Duke energy to get my panels put online and change meter. I have had no support from Green Solar and would highly suggest for anyone to explore other alternatives for solar technology. THIS WAS THE WORST MOST INCOMPETENT COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH AND THE WORST CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. BY THE WAY IM A CONTRACTOR.

This company is such a rip off I can’t believe they are still in busness. They hired me to install some PV solar systems for them and I agreed, they had me do the jobs and use a lot of my own money to complete the jobs and then refused to pay me. But the worst thing is, the couple on one of the jobs are on a fixed income, they told green solar tech up front they could not afford the electric bill and the solar system both, Green Solar assured them this system would knock out their electric bill.

The very first day in the job I knew they lied to get a sale, there was no way it would cover their bill. Long story short they screwed this couple and now being on a fixed income they cant afford both bills so they stopped paying Green Solar financial people only to get tons of threats to this older retired sweet couple. They don’t care about any one but their selfs, they lied to me, to their customers, if your thinking about using them, please look some where else, they are RIP OFFS!!

I won’t stop till they are shut down!!

SCAM ARTIST! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

I wish we would have looked this company up here, because it has a lot of complaints already. We inquired about a solar and roof repair with this company. They came out, gave us a quote of $3000 to repair the roof, and another wrote of nearly $30K to do solar. We wanted to start with the roof repair first and then do the solar. Thank god we did, because this company turned out to be entirely unprofessional and scammed us out of $5000. We are now filing a law suit against them.

The originally quoted $3000 for the leak repair became $5000 a week later, when they found “more issues” in connection with our roof. That alone should have been a red flag.

In any event, they offered a 20 year warranty on the roof and we felt good about going ahead with the repair. They repaired the roof leak and not even ONE WEEK later the roof leaked AGAIN.

Our contractor who look at their work while they were doing repairs told them that the way they are fixing the roof won’t hold. They ignored him. We called them and said to make sure the work is done properly. They said, our contractor doesn’t know what he is talking about. And, if indeed there was an issue the warranty would hold and they would come out to fix it. So, we thought it’s a non – issue given the warranty.

The warranty was worth nothing as it turned out because they refused to come out to fix their mistake, when we called them to fix the leak. They reasoning was “the leak must come from somewhere else”. When we showed them pictures showing the roof was leaking at the EXACT SAME SPOT they “repaired” they yelled at us saying “you don’t know what you are talking about” and hung up on us. They didn’t even take an inkling of responsibility for the fact the service we paid for (repairing a roof leak) was not performed and their warranty was not exercised. We are now forced to hire another roof company to do the work AGAIN.

Needless to say we will file a law suit against this company for damages they caused plus a loss of rental income, because our tenants can’t live in the home due to the leaking roof.

Thank God we used them on a smaller job first, before giving them a $30K job. People like this are repulsive and its truly upsetting having to deal with such a profound lack of professionalism. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU CAN’T TRUST A WORD THEY SAY! THEY ARE SCAM ARTIST.

The problem I have is with Green Solar Technologies. When I was first contacted I thought this was a great Idea. Salesperson sends me a bunch of videos and I view them all and I'm excited. Same panels that are on the White House, run over them with a truck, kid doing XGame stunts on them with a bike ! Totally awesome presentations and I'm like WOW! Greatest thing since popcorn & peanut butter! These things are going to be great in my front yard. Sales guy turns me over to a project manager. He's got a project engineer for me. So-and-so got a secretary and so on, one guys talking financing and I tell him listen, I'm on disability dude. I don't have much money to throw around. He says piece a cake man. You start making juice YOU WON'T HAVE AN ELECTRIC BILL. Says he got me a great rate for the first year and a half & my payments are to be $86 & change. Turned out that was the first lie. Turned out to be $101 and when I called them on it I was told they had to do that to get me the better rate. Then the installer comes by measuring this and doing that with GPS. He's looking at my wiring that has to be brought up to code, A LOT OF STUFF ! (Installer by the way was awesome! A one man construction crew, did the work of 5 men every day for 7 straight days! ALL ALONE!) but not yet. He's just surveying the situation. Then he leaves.

Time goes by and after a while one of them calls me and says we can't put the panels in the front yard, city won't let us & I'm like, well that kills that I guess! All this running for nothing. Guy say no we'll put the array in the back yard. I'm like there are some massive trees in the back yard. They're showing on your engineer diagrams the satellite took! Remember! Oh it's OK, these panels are fantastic! It'll still be fine. Made it sound like these solar panels would run off of moon light. And you're telling me I won't have an electric bill, right!? Oh yea piece a cake! The emails are flying back & forth with schematics & contracts & signings and such. One day a tractor-trailer backs down my street and has 2 pallets and a boat load of pipe to drop in my drive-way. Then a long wait. Problem with the installer being slammed with work. Before long I'm getting bills for $101 for a solar array that's boxed up in my driveway along with my electric bill so I'll have lights, AC, computer, stove, water heater, you know all that stuff we plug in for life's comforts. Installer finally shows up and goes to work. It's during the hurricane going up the east coast where he lives with his wife & kids. I said go home and take care of your family man! He says water prohibits him from going home! So I can't go home. Anyhow, he gets done and goes home. Job looks like a million, with one small exception, waiting on Duke to hook more stuff up. Array works fine but I'm not generating anything for the grid.

It's through this time that I become acquainted with a lady named ???? at Duke Energy. There's a special number for solar customers to call for anything to do with solar power. When getting started, there's a list of things that must be done in order and inspected upon each completion. ???? was always the lady to talk to in this process to let you know where you stood in each process and inspection. While on the phone one day we're conversing and waiting on her computer to bring up a page and I just pop off facetiously with I sure love ya'll but I'll sure be glad when I won't have an electric bill. She says honey I'm sorry but all these solar people are lying to you all. You will always have an electric bill. I'm like are you serious. If I generate more than I use(which hasn't happened yet) my bill will be $11.13 +7% tax (currently). I began generating electricity December 12, 2016 and have not yet generated enough to cover my monthly usage. ???? does not answer the phone anymore. She has been moved to another department. They would not allow me to talk to her. My electric bill due March 14, 2018 is $163.34 and I will be paying a $154.65 solar payment for the next ~20~ years. If I use the word rape that would pretty much cover the way I feel. $4250 would get 3 of the big popular trees down and out and help tremendously for more direct sun exposure but I would still like specific performance of no electric bill.

I was contacted by best energy advisor several times and told them to stop calling and take me off there call list the calls keep coming in, Then I decided to look into buying a solar system. I found this company on the internet called Green Solar technologies in North Hollywood checked out there website and start to do my homework on this company before contacting them. Well what I found was that this company is so fraudulent after finding out they are connected to american solar solutions and best enery advisor I was glad I didnt call them just look at the reviews on yelp for american solar solutions they all have the same address and the same owners and are on the same floor I just want other homeowners to be very carefull before you end up losing money with these companies. Warning if they call you by phone have them take you off there list they say they will but they don't.
