I went to trublue by hilton in Duluth Minnesota to reserve a room for that night. I was directed to there website and ended up reserving a room iin Lopuisiana and I contacted the website. They told me that i couldn't change the reservation unless The hotel was called directly and canceled it. I called the hotel and they tried to get me to reserve a room in duluth,mn and expected me to pay for both of the reservations.

IU was told to call another number, who then procedded to tell me to call the hotel and have them send a confirmation of approval or the cancellation and They would refund my money. I went back and forth between the website and the hotel with no satisfaction for over an hour and endedup being charged for the room.

On 08Jun2021 I made a reservation on what I believed was the Hampton Inn website. Somehow GETAROOM.com hijacked my session (res #R2578256078). The rate for 11-13June was $442.48. I hit the reservation button and received a text from AMEX stating GETAROOM.com charged me $626.31 including a $183.93 “Processing Fee” that I wasn’t aware of. I immediately called and asked to cancel since I did not agree to the exorbitant fees (it had been less that 2 minutes). They refused to cancel stating it was non-refundable. I pushed Jason to please help me, he finally agreed to a 10% ($62.63) discount. Unsatisfied and feeling totally scammed I called back and escalated to a Supervisor (Jaylen N). He refused to cancel and agreed to a 15% discount ($93.95). These fees are exorbitant. The massive list of BBB complaints shows most consumers agree (1,106 complaints closed in last 3 years). They are rated as a “D+” and BBB determined the allegations, and overall concerning pattern of complaints, persist. I would like GETAROOM.com to provide the balance of the $183.93 “Processing Fee” ($89.98) as a refund to my AMEX immediately.

AAAaaaa Bethesda trip, hotel issue

Get A Room quoted me a price of $264 for 3 nights at a hotel. After I confirmed and gave them my info, they flashed a total on the screen of $423 (a 60% increase). They had tacked on $159 for "taxes & fees", making their total price far higher than those of their competitors. I immediately called Get A Room but they absolutely refused to cancel my reservation or match the price of competitors (who typically included taxes & fees in their room price or added only 10-15%). Clearly this was a deliberately deceptive practice by Get A Room. I am surprised they are still in business. DO NOT believe their advertised prices or use their site.

We made a reservation for Thanksgiving holiday travel, we searched for Expedia and thought we were on Expedia.com, but this site hotelvaules.com populated and we made the reservation without knowing. When we arrived ot the Hotel we a problem with the room and they asked us to contact the reservation vendor, this is when we learned it was not Expedia, we called the toll-free number because the "non-smoking" room was actually smoking, but this site Hotel Values/ Get a Room, said they could not authorize any room change whatsoever.

They were completely useless, they did not have a supervisor or any contact to assist us and we had to work with the hotel (who did accommodate). This site was manned by foreign operators who had no awareness of US ADA or other laws and was completely useless. Hotels.com and Expedia have robust buying power and excellend customer service, they have assisted me many times in the past as I travel extensively. I recommend you only book direct to the hotel or thgouh Hotels.com or Expedia.com.

Yesterday I went on-line to reserve a Best Western Hotel room. I choose the city on the Best Western web site and called the phone number listed. My call was answered "reservations." After providing my stay dates I was quoted a price of $109 a night.

I provided my Visa # and I was told the total was $487 for three nights. When I questioned the total I was told the additional was for taxes and fees. Then she went on to say this was a non-refundable price. When I refused accept a non-refundable reservation she back tracked and made it refundable for a fee!

I should have cancelled the call and reservation at that time but I have never stayed in this location and fell for the line of BS. I completed the reservation and received confirmation via e-mail. The more I thought about this the more it bothered me. Today I took time to find and call the actual hotel. I could have reserved the same room today for $87 less. And it would be refundable if necessary.

I called to cancel the reservation at Get-a-room reservations and they disconnected my call. Get-a-room reservations is a total rip off and I am very upset that Best Western allows this phony reservation company to use their name.

The told me the discounted fee included all fees. Then added a 50% "Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees."

The problem is, nowhere on the site do you know who the company is you are dealing with.

They go by "getaroom" and "guestreservations.com."

Beware total scam.

I looked up Hampton Inn Roanoke VA, got hamptoninnroanoke.guestreservations - I thought I was on the hotel reservation site. I selected a nonrefundable room, entered my credit card info, and when I went to check out, the price jumped $50+.

Called hotel and was informed that I had booked on a site that was 3rd party, ie, getaroom.com, not their reservation site (look at site name: hamptoninnroanoke.guestreservations). Since I selected nonrefundable, I knew I could not cancel. At check out on 8/27/19, the bill the hotel gave me was $50.44 less than what my credit card was charged.

First they made it seem like that I was booking through my hotel chain directly. Then, they very strongly advertised a great rate for the room that I was booking. The however, they deceptively added a surcharge which was 61% of the room rate.

They were only supposed to charge around $8 for tax but charged $39.99. When I called immediately to get this corrected or cancelled they only provided a recording an now way to speak to anyone.

They didn't say they were a 3rd party site booked me into a hotel that had been on strike for 4 weeks and was unable to find any other rooms under 1k ON October 29th 2018. I booked a room through I thought was the Sheraton website at no time was I told this was through getaroom. I only found this out after booking the room and getting the email conformation R1278805723. I was supposed to be in a room from 11/1-11/4 when I arrived at the property I saw a picket line and when I asked how long the strike had been going on for I was told by the front desk 4 weeks. No one at getaroom informed me of this I was subjected to having to cross a picket line from 6am-10pm through my stay the picketers had bull horns, drums and other noise making equipment. In addition from 10pm-6am the picketers would set off car alarms every 20 minutes to ensure you couldn't get any sleep. When I called to see if they're were any other rooms available none under 1k a night were available.

When I called getaroom they informed me all they were responsible was to provide me with a room no matter the condition. I was bitten by bed bugs, had to clean my own room, and had no services at all whatsoever offered to me. Now that I've done some research on the internet I find I'm not alone there are hundreds of people this has happened to receiving horrible customer service

I called getaroom.com the first recommendation for a fast hotel savings online website. I booked for 2 nights on August 7, 2017. I was having surgery the next morning August 8, 2017 at 7 a.m. nearby the hotel. When I arrived to the hotel they had manadtory valet parking at $30 a night for 2 nights and 2 vehicles.= $120.00 extra I was not counting on and was never explained this when booking this hotel thru getaroom.com.

I was furious and called to cancel. They argued with me about cancelation policy, adding to my health problems and stress. They said I had to cancel before August 6, 2017. I explained that I could not cancel a reservation that I made before I made it. They still said that was their policy. I was not to receive my money back and would be charged 250.00 for 2 nights. I then had to scramble for another hotel and there was an event in the area making it hard at the last minute to find a Hotel.

Double payment. I had to pay for a hotel I never used. Plus find something else in the area so I could do my surgery. After contacting them again in like a few days after my surgery they sent me to escalation department of customer service. They gave me a ticket number that I have still and said they would review a few weeks later, I got a one night refund. I feel this is unfair and they are a sham of a company with ripoff practices. I feel I am entitled to a full refund of two nights and I want people to be informed of this company so they don't get taken like I did. Also I used my debit card for payment.

Getaroom .com makes you believe you a booking directly with the hotel. They charged me a $400 fee on a $1100 reservation. Refused to refund, lied, hung up the phone. Awful company, what can we do to put them out of business?

I thought I was reserving directly through the hotel I was staying at. My total charge was $358.73 which seemed high, but I was in a rush and certain areas of the country charge silly taxes and fees depending on local regulations, so I didn't think much of it until I got to the hotel. The hotel would have charged only $293.80 for 3 nights including taxes (no fees). GetaRoom.com charged a $64.93 fee (22%!!!) and buried it in a single line called "Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees" on a "HotelsOne.com" receipt that a representative said was entirely hotel taxes and fees. I needed to check out a day early, but couldn't through the front desk.

The hotel saw the reservation under "Expedia" but when I called Expedia they saw nothing. GetaRoom.com claims that there is a no refund policy "as subject to the hotel's cancellation policy", but the hotel had no issue with providing a refund for early check-out. Unfortunately, the hotel could not issue a refund since the charge was through GetaRoom.com and GetaRoom.com insisted that they were under no obligation to refund since it was a hotel policy. I have used third party booking, but I have NEVER had such a horrible experience with a reservation with such an outrageous fee. In my opinion, GetaRoom.com is a charlatan operation. Be wary of GetaRoom.com, HotelsOne.com, and Consumer Club, Inc (all associated with my reservation).
