WARNING! Con Artist And His Brother Scamming Investors In The Toronto Area For Bogus Business Opportunity

Ontario Con Artists Scam $700,000+ From Local Unsuspecting Investors This Year (2019) Alone

Earlier this year a couple filed a lawsuit in Ontario, Canada over a local con artist who poses as a so-called photographer/videographer. Johny Mikhael, the con man in question, who owns the business called Genesis Vue has been pulling this scam for a few years now. His brother Jimme Mikhael (owner of International Rug Gallery) may also be a participating partner in crime on this scheme.

How The Scam Works

Johny has his business, Genesis Vue act as an actual business where he does photography for real estate (homes being sold etc). He may even find expensive neighborhoods and offer to do the photography for free.

Once he gets in the house he boasts about the big opportunity with taking Genesis Vue to a grand scale (multiple countries, franchises, going public, basic BS).

He then presents a professional website and presentation in order to entice the unsuspecting investor into believing that his company and himself are bigger than they actually are.

He shows an Instagram account and other social platforms with multiple members and/or followers, which are mostly paid for - (fake).

In just one case, one couple reported being ripped off for over $250,000. They are currently in a lawsuit and are among multiple lawsuits against Genesis Vue and it’s owner Johny Mikhael.

There have been countless victims in this scam and yet Johny continues his business. Newest scam now is iRadio.

“Scams succeed because they look like the real thing and catch people off guard when they’re not expecting it,” said a spokesman for one of the victims. “The best way to prevent a scam is to be alert to the fact that scams exist, and then learn what warning signs look like.”

In most of the cases, the scammers in question have persuaded the victims to invest in the scaling of the Genesis Vue brand.

“Often, sadly, it’s vulnerable adults that fall victim to these sorts of things,” victim spokesperson said. “People literally give their hard earned money because they feel like they don’t want to miss a great opportunity. It’s too bad the opportunity is more of just a fantasy and a scam of the biggest magnitude”

The victims in this scam so far range in age from 21 to 76 years-old and have varying degrees of education, socio-economic status and life experience. “Everyone is susceptible to being scammed,” victims spokesperson said.

Most scams work to incite panic and require a person to take immediate action, victims spokesperson said.

Currently there are 7 pending court cases against him.
