I contacted HomeAdvisor to locate a contrator to build a room addition / storm shelter. HomeAdvisor recommended a company and that someone would be in contact with me. Soon I recieved a call from their recommended service and set a appointment for them to come out an d give me a estimate for the job. A sales person came out to my house in a vehicle with Four Seasons Sunrooms signage. He introduced himself and handed me a business card showing Four Seasons Sunrooms.

Nowhere on his card or vehicle did it show anthing other than Four Seasons Sunrooms. My very first response to him after he handed the card was, wait aren't you the sunroom people? He answered yes we are Four Seasons Sunrooms. I went on to question him with concern about them being capable of doing what I had requested. I very specifically questioned if they could do onsite construction, like a continous pour basement storm shelter stick build brick and mortar ground up construction.

He told me YES and even went on to say that they had all the equipment and all the people on the jobsite where all Four Seasons empolyees. They would do everything from permitting do it all he said.

Next he took some measurements to start the estimate. I very specifically told him I wasn't sure if we could even do the addition because of the setback requirements. He measured and assured me it would be ok but he would check for sure. He then wrote the contract that showed Four Seasons Sunrooms upper left hand corner big letters and matching logo on vehicle and business card. He wrote up the estimate first on another sheet of paper listing specific details of the job.

This paper also showed the Four Seasons Logo. He had to rewrite this one several time because he wasn't writing down what we where wanting. We corrected him multiple times. He still made a mistake when writing it on the contract. He had to correct the contract. My wife and I gave him a check for the down payment made out to Four Seasons like he instructed for $17,100.00. We would make more payments as the job went along. Keep in mnd this was on Feb 22 2017.

A few weeks later the salesman came back out to our for a second payment of $17,100.00. They hadn't confirmed any of our concerns we discussed when he took the first check. He was supposed to confirm they could match our brick, confirm the setback reqirements with the county. However, he showed up with a employee to dig the footing to start the job. He demanded payment saying the contract stipulates that the second payment of $17100.00 must be paid when starting the job. I asked him if they had pulled a permit for the job and he said yes. I was extremely unhappy with him and expressed by displesure and disgust with him because of multiple infractions.

One, he lied about the permit, hadn't confirmed the brick to match with the brick company, Didn't have any plans or drawings concerning the job at all, NOTHING. I told the salesman that I had been intouch with planning and zoning just morning. They assured me no permit had been requested. I then ran him off my property. The employee that came with him knew nothing about the job. I explained to him since he was their concrete guy what we wanted. He told me he didn't have any enginered plans concerning the storm shelter. He told me he was to did the footing and collect the check.

As you can guess multiple conversations with the local Four Seasons Franchisee went back and forth. E-mails showing their titles and Four Seasons Factory Direct on their e-mails. They sent another gentleman out to fix the mess. He too hands us a card Four Seasons. He actually brought out the brick to confirm a match. Even with this gentleman he at no time represented himself as a DBA. HE says they are Four Sunrooms. The employee that was out did dig the footing and we did make the second payment of $17100.00. We are now $34,200.00 for a footing dug but not poured.

The county stopped the job because of yip you guessed it encroachment setback rule. Had to get a varriance hearing In JUNE 2017. Interesting though when they actually did file for permit and for varriance hearing, did they file under their DBA? NOPE! Four Seasons

Delay and excuse after excuse multiple failed attempts to do the job they finally abandoned the job. I contacted the local news to see if others had any complaints concerning Four Seasons and they said multiple. KY3 on your side investigation came out to my home and was shoked with the length of time and mess they had left my property. They did a story on my job and a one legged woman in a wheel chair that had paid in full and didn'finish the job.

Once it hit ht news multiple other consumers came forward to complain about simuliar situations. KY3 in Springfield Mo. has done several stories related to this ripoff. The local dealer refused to give me my money back or finish the job. Many of us had to file law suits to try and get results. Only for the Four Seasons Dealer in Springfield Mo. to file bankruptcy & later file personal bankruptcy. Four Seasons in New York knew for several months that this dealer was a problem, yet allowed his Franchiase to continue to use the Corporate Name to sell jobs.

For example, at the 341 creditors hearing it was discovered Mike Hainrihar the owner personally sold a job and colleced a check for $12,800.00 that was cashed Jan. 4th 2018 and filed for bankruptcy Jan. 15th 2018. Jan. 15 2018 was Martin Luther King Jr. Day which means it wasn't filed in the court till Tue. So you mean that only seven business days after he cashed the check he didn't know he would be filing bankruptcy. He took that couples money and nothing you can say can convince me that he had any intention of providing services for that money. Yip you guessed it, the check was made out to Four Seasons. I was there at the hearing and outside when the couple told the news reporter. Their has been over sixty consumers that have come forward and complained to KY3 in Springfied Mo.

Google KY3 on your side investigation Sunroom Company files bankruptcy. What has Four Seasons told us? We are not responsiable for the individual dealers. Funny thing is when you ask for a quote from them in New York they are quick to tell you they have over 3500 franchisee around the country. Here's $34200.00 question for me anyway, how many of them are operating like the one they knew about in Springfield Mo?

Oh, in case you are wondering. The dealer that did this in Missouri is now selling Four Seasons Sunrooms & Windows in Oklahoma City according to his words under OATH at a hearing in Springfield Mo.

Four Seasons history

Four Seasons has operated with crooked dealers/franchisees since their beginning in the early 80’s. Our company was one of the few legitimate dealers. The only reason they are still in existence is because of a British deep pockets company who received Four Seasons as part of a bankruptcy purchase in the UK of Ultraframe. Time will tell if they continue operating the Four Seasons brand.
