Texas toll roads are a complete scam! Your GPS WILL send you onto them (even if it's set not to) ((because some of them aren't charging...yet)) and there are NO booths to pay at! If you are from out of town, you will have to pull over on the side of the highway and read the fine print before (or after, God ((and probably law)) forbid) you enter. This happened in both the Houston and Dallas metros. This is literally, in every sense of the term, "highway robbery"! Call them for yourself and listen to the complete nonsense they spew to justify both the policy and, why you're wrong... I knew the beltway in Houston was toll, and they used to have booths. NOPE!! It's the WalMart of roads! Freedom of movement? Not in Texas. Basically an unannounced "road tax". Btw, the toll was $0.55. The "initial notice fee" was $2.50. Dallas was about the same. The only way I knew I was on a toll was from the camera flash! Hard to see signs at night at 55-65mph. But, doesn't matter. There's nowhere to turn around until the next exit anyway. Too late!
