Our refrigerator started failing, and based upon recommendations we defrosted it entirely and it started to work well again. It was a General Electric Hotpoint, 9 years old, and it seemed a little too soon for it to have run its course. We called Scott Rohter from Fix It 4 Less, and we set up an appointment for him to come to our home at 6:00pm. He arrived after 10pm and was at our home until midnight. He assured us that the refrigerator would be fixable, he just needed parts. So we paid for the parts upfront. While at our house, he defrosted the coils, so the refrigerator worked for about 5 days before it started warming up again. He came by our home in the afternoon for another check to pay for more parts. He came about a week later with the parts, defrosted the coils, installed the parts, again well after 10pm. The refrigerator worked well for about a week, but then began to fail. We called him, and he came again after 10pm, defrosted the coils, then said that another part needed to be installed along with the other part. He said he suspected as much, but that this would fix it for sure. The refrigerator started to fail again about a week later, again he showed up after 10pm, and said he made adjustments to the fan and the automatic door that transfered the cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator. He said we required more parts but that he would cover them. I was very upset by this point, and we had quite a heated exchange. He suggested that we get a GE expert out to our house, he would cover the cost to get their opinion of what was happening. He assured ME that he would fix it, and would get more parts. At this point we have baggies of wires and parts from various parts of our refrigerator all over our kitchen counter. By this point we've lost three different sets of groceries, and total faith that he would be able to fix the refrigerator.

We just wanted to reiterate what others have said that Scott showed up at our house after 10pm everytime (except for the time he came only for the check for more parts). He would talk politics (which we generally don't mind) in long-winded argumentative rants going on-and-on, which would make his time at our house later and later. We ended up writing 4 separate checks totalling $543.85, and in the end we ended up buying a new refrigerator. We recently messaged him to let him know that the refrigerator was never repaired, and that we were considering reporting him to the Better Business Bureau and to see if he would be willing to compensate some portion of our expense. He was unaware that we already bought a new refrigerator and went on in all caps that we are the problem because we waited too long to have him come in with the new parts for him to fix our fridge. "You never got back to me so the problem is you NOT ME...If you don't allow someone to do their job I CAN'T KNOW HOW YOU CAN BLAME THEM FOR ANYTHING... Some things are harder than others. Its not my fault that your refrigerator was one of those Steve...The fault is yours NOT MINE...

In our experience this person did not stand by his work, took $543.00, was not able to fix our refrigerator in a reasonable timeframe, and now says I am the problem. Please get a second opinion.
