I was contacted to advertise my firm in the tee score cards for two golf courses in the Waterloo Region in Ontario, Canada. I was contacted by a salesperson to enter into a one-year advertising contract, and I agreed. I was then contacted by the same person the next day, who told me that he could work out a deal where, if I signed up for 2 years of advertising and a locked-in price, I would have my firm advertised at the third golf course in the area FOR FREE. The first year proceeded fine and I was charged the amount they advised for two golf courses. However, the sleezy salesperson who called me every time to authorize my credit card also told me that I would get 12 complimentary golf course passes couriered to my office so that I could treat clients to a round of golf. I never once received those passes, despite being told on 4 separate occasions that they were on their way to me and the salesman confirmed my office address. Then, in year 2, the company started charging my credit card additional times before I realized that this was in error and that they were not over-charging me; in other words, they were charging me for the third golf course that was supposed to be free. Again, at the end of every phone call I was told I would receive complimentary golf course passes for the season but I have yet to receive anything.

Fortunately I was able to get the company to stop charging my credit card and as soon as I E-mailed them and called them out on their breach, they stopped contacting me. Reading other articles, I not realize that they are scammers and I was duped. I hope the word gets out so that they can be shut down. No one deserves to have money extorted/stolen from them, especially by deceitful companies.

WARNING: DO NOT USE FAIRWAY MEDIA FOR ANY OF YOUR ADVERTISING. IF THEY CALL TO OFFER YOU AN AD, USUALLY AT A GOLF COURSE, DO NOT USE THEM. YOU ARE BETTER OFF CONTACTING THE GOLF COURSE DIRECTLY IF YOU WANT TO ADVERTISE WITH A GOLF COURSE.

This company i sextremely good at selling advertising. They have a Canadian website. They used to have canadian golf course advertising contracts. But because of their tactics, their obnoxius attitude, they have lost all of their contracts or about to lose them. The businesses that Fairway Media had conned complained to the golf courses so much, that they had no choice but to get rid of them.

In my case, Fairway Media had charged my credit card $500 before I authorized them to do so. The next day, a second sales person attempted to charge my credit card a second time for advertising for two other golf courses. Luckily, my credit card declined the second charge. I found out afterwards that the two additional golf courses had already ended their relationship with Fairway Media, and didn't actually have any advertising contracts with them. They attempted to defraud me of $500. But according to Joshua, who never did state who he was, said that it was ok because no money was lost. He didn't even acknowledge that they were defrausing unsuspecting businesses.

Fairway Media had said they had a strict "no refund" policy on their contracts with bisnesses. First, the sales person never said anything about that. Second, the contract is illegible so you can't read it. And lastly, they don't even have you sign it and email it back. I had to talk to my credit card company's Fraud Department to stop any further charges, because Fairway Media refused to erase my credit card details. I had to submit a Canada Anti-Fraud compalint. In order to get a refund, I submitted a BBB complaint - in which Joshua, whoever he was - called and said that he needed a valid reason to refund my money, but attempted fraud wasn't good enough.

I will wait and see if I actually get back the amount I lost ($497 Canadain). I hope no one ever has to deal with these peoole again. Buyer beware, and don't give out your credit card details over the hone to anyone. Ever.

This company from the states reached out to me as a small business in Ontario to have my business advertised in the local golf course score card. They offered me a discounted rate for the year. This was in the early spring of 2023.

I paid for my business to have advertisment and they obtained my CC information and charged it the $300+ USD for this.

I have golfed at the golf course in the town over a dozen times. My advertisment was not displayed.

Also, they called me to follow up in October indicating they wanted to send me my "course guide". They called to confirm my address. I did, and then they tried to bill my credit card a second time for $300+ USD for an ad that was never approved of.

I am not certain that this company is even legitimate as my ad was not in the score cards.

They threatened to send myself to collections. I asked for proof of contract with them as I never authorized any of this.

I haven't heard from them since.

I would strongly recommend against going with Fairway Media. It was odd how they reached out to me, and then attempted to bill me multiple times without permission.

Please be safe small business communities.

Scammers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back in December 2019 we entered into an agreement to advertise in out local golf course score card. We paid the fee. Fast forward to March 2020. I recieved a phone call asking for a mailing address to send out proofs that are ready. I gave him the address, he then texted me the proofs and asked me to type ok when I received. I did, silly of me to believe this man. He also slipped in a new invoice and billed us for a second year that we never agreed to. Sketchy practices!!!!

I called the office numerous times asking to reverse payment immediately. Explained my conversation. The first customer service agent put me on hold and never returned. The second customer service agent finally agreed to reverse after he relized that I was not going to engage in his "nicety to distract" routine. He told me they would reverse charges then ABRUPTLY hung up on me mid sentence. I am now sending emails to them, still waiting and now have our bank's fraud department looking into their sketchy practices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE....RUN FROM THEM AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
