So I'm enrolled in this school. I restarted on December 4, 2017 and so far I have not learned a thing nor have I had an actual educator. When they restarted their cosmetology program I was in there every day for two weeks signing papers for my financial aid because they couldn't get anything right the first time.They paid my fuel twice, and I live 30 miles one way from the school. When I started back there I had a teacher for 3 days only. She had to take medical leave and that was Thursday my first week of classes. Since then I had several different teachers and none of them know what they are doing. The first week I taught my one and only class mate anatomy of the arms, hands, feet and lower legs. As well as how to acrilic nails. I have caught clients bringing alcohol into the school and proceed to get trashed while getting their hair done. Mind you that in itself is against the law. When I told the director about it she didn't do anything about it and let the customer sit in the chair and get trashed. By the time her service was complete she was extremely drunk. The dress code is black and white. Today I looked more professional then the other women that attend the school. I had on a plan shirt and charcoal grey slacks and I was told to leave because I was out of dress code. But yet another student was wearing green and black pokadot jeans and was allowed to stay. There are students who have no idea how to cut hair and they are expected to do so when they are out of pre salon. In cosmetology there are only 2 students myself and one other person. We have yet to have a teacher who is continual or that knows what they are doing. I am being forced to pay $900 for a tablet that I will never use threw the school and that is not covered in financial aid. I told them that I could find a tablet cheaper in the mall and that I'd buy one from somewhere else not them. I was told I couldn't do that because my tablet would have my student portal and all my books and personal information already on it. When I got the tablet yesterday there was nothing downloaded on it for the school. I took it into the financial aid advisor and he downloaded the school info for me on the tablet. The teachers love to gossip about the students and they all place judgment upon the students, and pry into our lives like they have the right to know all about you. There are teachers who press religion on you, as if it is their job. The school is infested with drama and is not professional in the slightest way. Most the students look like they just rolled out of bed and didn't bother to get dressed before hand. I'm paying just over $20,000 for my education and I'm not getting one. I have had to ask someone to teach me how to do nails so that I pass the tests. The educators are not educated themselves and what knowledge they have was gained in school they took 25-35 years ago. The equipment there is old and broken. I watched a hair dryer break and fall onto an elderly clients head had I not been right there to help her who knows how long it would have been before someone noticed it because students leave on breaks while their clients are under the dryer or while color is setting in. I was told that you never under any circumstances leave a client under the dryer while they are in your care. Yesterday a client got soaked because the nozzle on the hose at the sink fell completely off and hit the client in the head. Today when I was told I needed to either go home and change or just go home, I got up and left I called the school to talk to the director about the incident and she refused to let me talk she cut me off every other word and I hung up on her. She tried to tell me I was in a bad mood when I got there this morning and in all reality I was in a good mood tell they got stupid. I don't feel that I should be paying $20,000 for an education I'm not receiving and that something needs to be done about this school. They go threw more staff members then women go threw toilet paper. They are not responsible in the least. I strongly suggest that if your wanting to take cosmetology classes do not go to empire beauty school in any state or any location. It is a waste of you time, money and fuel. They treat you good a maybe a week if your a suck up and bow down but then it's all down hill after the first few days.
They suck you in by telling you that you can order 2 weeks supply of Garcinai Cambogia. When you press the button to purchase and AFTER you give all your payment information it will take you to another page and offer another supplement to boost the affects for only $5.99. Well, it seems like a good deal. BUT listen to me....It is a scam to get your money. On the forst page it says there is a Money Back Guarantee if you are not satisfied but Nowhere on this page does it say you will be receiving a months worth of supplements and nowhere on this page does it say IF you don't cancel in 14 days your card will be billed hundreds of dollars. Hundreds people, not $15 and not $50 but hundreds of dollars. As soon as I got the supplements I knew something was up because I received 90 instead of 14. I didn't follow my instincts and Now I have to pay. less than two weeks later I was billed $92. I called and was furious. I offered to send the supplements beck.. I didn't even open the crap. I was told there was no way I was getting my money back and she kept making offers to give me free stuff if I didn't cancel. I told her she was wasting her time and to cancel NOW. She gave me a cancellation number and two days later I was billed another $97 and the next day received another bottle of their crap pills. I called again and she said I was NOW cancelled but it didn't cancelled before the second payment was taken and that I had the pills so I had to pay. I again offered to send all of the supplements back unopened and she said no. I asked her about the Money back guarantee and she quickly stated that was within the first 14 days and that because they didn't hear from me they assumed I was losing tons of weight and wanted to receive more supplements and pay tons of money. Are you serious. It is a slight of hand. They get your confidence on the first page and you are surprised by the pop up on the second page and time is counting down so you hit the purchase button and the stipulations are on the second page. I am going to dispute the charges and return all of their supplements with a very truthful letter inside so they know exactly what I think of them.
