Edmonds Auto Sales, Inc. Reviews

Went to this used car lot, dont give satisfaction of calling a dealership, in a time of need and with all the tax money we could offer. We were the ideal customer as far as showing up and picking a car out quickly and being sold! They did take 900$ down instead of the 1400$ originally asked for. However it was to be made up within the first two or three monthly payments. So, instead of 250$/month itd be 350$/month for the first few payments. We were stoked! Yet we were broke as can be but felt accomplished, we had gotten insurance and a car that we drove off the lot the same day. We were rebuilding after losing everything. That's the driving force why I cannot accept what im going to explain happened. I will be honest, and even if its me being in the wrong, i want to show how both parties really were. We bought a ( wow, 2000 or 2001 lol) Mitsubishi Diamante that to us was fully loaded, v6, with only around 146k miles and the body cosmetically was 70-80% descent. We werent complaining, thats not a cause for any trouble. The back left window not rolling down, the broken antenna, the full of dirt trunk and the rediculous window marker paint that they didnt and couldt get off...screw it, small things..right!? Well, 5 days...five days...cinco days after we left that car lot I was working and not thinking of anything but work and busting tail doing so, I get a call from my wife. She was sad, confused, upset with herself, upset wth the dealership. She informs me our newused car has stopped moving. She said it was at a stop sign, and had been just fine for the 5 days before and up until she started moving from the stop sign and the car started to accelerate and then coasted to a standstill by a local store where it was somewhat in the road and not. of course my wife tried all the common sense ideas. Nothing helped. Luckily it got pushed to a safe spot where she was able to call the car lot and explain that this newused 5 day old car we just went broke to get has literally stopped moving at al. Well, this begins the true side of the used car sales lot that we fell for. My wife nicely asked for help, and after being made to feel stupid because she couldnt explain in a mechanics vocabulary every detail that was happening or had happened to the one representative, who said shed call back after speaking with the owner. She got a call back informing that they would not be helping us with a tow truck or a ride for my wife at least. They also proceeded to accuse my wife of lying to them about the time and place or the event itself. The owner proceeded to tell me that my wife must not be telling right story because he or someone he spoke with with had supposedly seen a female driving a car just like ours at another location at the same time. Well, she didnt frickin lie. I spoke with her at work the night, and helped get her a ride home at 9pm when its dark where we are. She was 30 miles from the house. So, the ever so awesome and extravagant vehicle boasting dealership didnt call, or even check on the situation until we, two weeks later had the vehicle towed to them, out of our pocket. We had recently went broke on a shoddy purchase two and a half weeks prior, hence the reason it took so long. So, after almost another week and a couple calls of being accused of lying and being spoke to by the owner like we were the lowest life forms and how dare us, how dare us come to him with a problem after he had worked so hard helping us with this vehicle. One encounter I actually had to ask the owner if he was okay, was he going to be able to speak with us in a descent manner because by no means were we coming off rude, loud or accusing. With his over pumped body builder stature walking up chest puffed up I had to actually think "is this guy, who claimed to know me personally, seriously trying to punk my wife and i down?" After we reassured him that theres no problem and he was coming off threatening, he relaxed and then spoke normal to us both. We were told that everything we had tried to explain to them over the phone about the problems with the 5 day driven vehicle had actually been correct as far as the transmission literally dying and no longer of any usable form. It was to be taken to a shop where itd be taken out and either worked on or replaced by a local mechanic. They sure had a tow truck to move it to the private home/shop where itd literally stay for 2 1/2 months in total. Im going to wrap this up, we were forced to go without a vehicle for the two and a half months that we didnt have use of the 5 day only driven newused car. When we asked for status updates on the transmission we were given multiple stories of what was going on. Between being told "they would not honor our 900$ down on another vehicle of comparable size and value and that we really should be grateful for the hoops they were going through to fix this cat and him bending over backwards to help us" that we were not getting anywhere and had to wait it out. The transmission adventure would be to much to type and its a doozy but not necessarily worth explaining they adventures of the traveling transmission, that was for the wrong model by the way. Well, almost 3 months had passed, and we got our car back. The hour itd of taken to detail and clean up inside and out, where it was blatantly obvious that the car was under a tree, with animals all over it. Also...when, and i wonder how long, it was able to run again it had been, lets assume, "road tested" for safety and verification of the job well done..someone took it out for drive through food and drinks and disposed of it in the back floor board. Oh, and the tank of gas they used during the test, would of been greatly appreciated if itd of been replaced. Or when they got in and out with the dirty clothes and shoes that maybe it be cleaned up. The car lot called is to inform us that our vehicle was past due on payments and was facing repossession. What!?!?! Really!?!?! Yep, scum bag usedcar lot tactics. The bill for the labor of the transmission by the way was told to be added to the total amount financed by us, therefor adding an extra 6 months to a year on to the loan. Well, after being stupified and just pissed off with them I did tell them that i would make some type of payment asap, but the fact it was being considered 3 months past due and up for repossession is a total scum bag scam! The vehicle was used for, and ill go way over my original memory, possibly 3 weeks after completion of the work and after speaking to them about the past due payments on the non working car. They could have it back, and not with any money out of our pocket. The original license plate issued to our car wasnt turned over to us to properly show licensing and insuring were complete. It was held from us unless we came out of pocket with more money we didnt have and werent understanding the reason why it wouldnt be released. They got their vehicle back a few weeks later from a tow yard after they sent their highly esteemed reposession team to come talk to me, and by talk..the unprofessional and sloppily dressed and possibly stoned employees or subcontractors proceeded to try and intimidate me and my wife. Threatened with all types of ludicrous things from imprisonment to notfying family members, which thats common, to calling and creating trouble at a probation office for us and knowing that itd likely end up in incarceration. After leveling that attitude problem i notified them where the vehicle was and that itd been there for weeks, and i thought they already had retrieved it. We were done wrong, so many ways. Plain and simple. They got out of this with money in hand, and their vehicle back and resold to a new victim in siler city whom i spoke with and asked if she realized that on a warm day when she uses the a/c it literally floods the passenger floorboard with enough water to get in shoes and cause horrible mold and smells! Shame on you edmonds auto sales, make used car dealers have a good name...you did say you would want the car to at least last long enough for the customer to pay it off! That didnt happen though, does it ever?
