Economy Rent A Car Reviews

I rented the car from ECONOMY RENT A CAR in Orlando, FL. When I was driving one day, I saw the toll booth but I did not see any person inside. The toll was $0.59. I left $1 bill which I pushed into the slot. I was charge by the ECONOMY RENT A CAR - $20 (administrative fee) for not paying a few cents ($0.59) toll fee!!! I did just 100 - 150 miles and paid them over $450! They also charged me for just few more hours of rental - as an additional, whole day of rental, instead of prorated fee! They are simply very greedy company!

A respectful company would pay as a courtesy $0,59 from the money they would made ( $460 for just 150 miles), and do not charge the client $20 administrative fee just to keep her/him as a future client and keep her/him happy so he could rent again from me in the future, and recommend me to others!

I booked this trip with an online agency, I won't mention their name because I like to company and they normally take care of my request. When I got to the counter the reps seemed nice and I asked how much they will charge. They said $502 for the rental (that was our agreed price with the booking agency) & 700 deposit for renting the car... few days later I looked at my bank statements and the charged me 500 for the rental 700 for depost and an additional unauthorized 800 for insurance. I called hoping this was a mistake and on the phone the told me this was a mandatory fee that is explained on their website. I was shocked how this "mandatory fee" was not once mentioned during the renting process. All documents we in a different language so there is no way I could read the fine print. They pretty much told me that's how it was and that they are 100% sure that that is the amount they are going to charge me.

Worst experience, I have scheduled a week in advance and read through their policy about insurance and nothing said I need proof of full coverage. .them ignoring the fact I have full coverage with aaa and have the policy card and insurance card..they wouldn't except this...

Do not use this company at all!

I want these clowns to call me to settle this

We rented a car from Economy Rental Cars for a week.

We were told if we didn't take their insurance because we have rental car insurance on our personal insurance they said they would would put a hold on our credit card equal to our deductible and the hold would be released upon 24 hours of returning the car.

We returned the car a day early and were told we would not receive a credit for returning the car early.

I was then told there was a problem with the car and a manager was called to check out the car. I was told because we smoked in the car. The manager went to the car and when I questioned what the problem was I was told by the manager told me there was no problem. The kid who checked the car back in thought he smelled smoke in the car because I had sprayed body spray on. The manager informed me my credit card would only be charged the rental of the car. But instead I was charged $466.00 more besides the $352.47 and WE don;t even smoke.

I will never and I recomment that no one should ever use Economy Renr Cars. They will you off!!!

Recently rented a car from economy rent a car romania with a pick up and drop off at the bucharest airport. I would like to inform you that i have witnessed dubious practices .Practices that could lead to serious brand and reputational damage.. Practices that are unworthy of a leading global car rental agency.

Upon drop off of the car on the 17th of august, the employee had informed me that there was a mark i was going to be charged for. I strongly disputed his claims given that the mark was insignificant and was probably there when i picked up the car. When i asked for an estimate of the amount i was going to be charged, the employee refused to provide me an amount nor a timeline. Given that i had a flight to catch and was in the company of my wife and toddler i couldn’t argue nor wait any further.

On the spot i thought i was dealing wit a zealous employee, but later on when i saw the amount charged on my credit card i understood that it was an orchestrated malpractice.

I was charged ron 1400 Circa usd 350) for a mark on the roof of the car that i have been accused of causing. The mark was so insignificant that it would not have been something i would have taken note of when picking the car up, especially when this is a car with heavy wear on it Almost 100,000 km, 9 documented marks and a broken fender).

When i asked the company to provide me a proof of the damage, they only provided me with a bill with the amount i was charged.

It is completely ludicrous that i am being charged ron 1,400 for a tiny scuff mark. There is absolutely no possibility that this type of repair could run this sort of cost and seems even more strange that i am being charged such a sum when the car that was rented to me un-repaired of its documented damages.

It also seems convenient for these irresponsible individuals to prey on foreign tourists ready to leave the country and very little recourse

I made a resrvation with Rentalcars.com to pick-up my car on May 14 2016 for one week. After I arrived in "Economy Rent A Car." I waited more than an hour before one guy took me to the counter and asked me to buy their rental car insuance. I told him I have inauance coverage from my credit card and from my auto insurance policy to coverage rental cars. He insited I have to buy their insurance for $12.00 per day. I rent car all the time but I never seen any car rental company like this one. What a horrible experience. I refused to buy their insurance and went back to the airport rent a car from National Car Rental without paying any insurance.

I hope my report can warn ohters not to rent any car from "Econmy Rent A Car". I don't want any one get ripoff from this company. Thank you.

Economy rent a car in Orlando has lied and cheated me out of over 200 dollars recently on my trip to Florida this month (may). I booked the rental online several days before my trip for a rental car which was supposed to cost 110 dollars for 8 days, which I have the receipt for. I have my own car insurance through travelers insurance and I did call them ahead of time to make sure I was covered for rental cars, they told me I was so I brought along a copy of my insurance. When I arrived at the rental companies place of business the gentleman working did not want to see my insurance and told me that because I was paying with a visa debit card and not a credit card that I absolutely had to purchase their insurance. Never before have I heard of being penalized for using a debit card instead of a credit card. I was then faced with several other fees such as one for not being over 25 years of age, and a "Florida fee" which he refused to give me any information on when I inquired about it. I was told that there were tolls everywhere on the highway and that I needed to purchase a toll pass option for 12 dollars a day, when I became disgruntled he then said that everything was disclosed on the website, which it was not. He told me he would pull it up in the computer but never actually did. While on my vacation I encountered one toll, when I asked the gentlemen why he had lied to me about the tolls and the fees he told me that I was wrong and that he drives the road every day and there are 3 tolls. I asked to speak to the manager and was denied the ability to do so. The workers were swearing and yelling at customers that were angry for the same reason. I asked for a refund due to the poor service and was also denied that. It was an overall a very bad experience and I believe these folks should be seriously looked into by the better business bureau as well as the local and state athorities. If needed please take a look at their reviews online and see exactly what innocent families have been dealing with since this place opened. My 110 dollar rental ended up costing me 369 dollars. I'm not in the least bit impressed. Please look into this asap and feel free to contact me for anymore information. Thank you.

I reserved a car from CarRental.com The car was to come from economy in Orlando Florida.

Upon arrival to pick up the car. There was a backup at the counter and a large amount of unhappy people. When I approched the desk I was asked for a copy of my proof of insurance . If I didn't have proof I would have to pay $25.00 per day for insurance, I asked if I could have it faxed of emailed. I was told they required a hard copy that was presented by the leaser of the car. This requirement was not in the reservation. Therefore I did not rent a car from economy however I was still charged.

This is just another way to lowball a price and rip people off.

We rented a car from Economy Rent A Car through their website. When we arrived, they said that there were no cars available. While at the airport people were returning from the off site car rental shaking their heads and telling us not to go to the Economy Rent A Car lot as there were no cars. Although I saw people returning cars, we were told there were no cars available. I showed them our confirmation and booking, they just said no cars.

As I checked online for another car to rent (while at the Economy Rent A Car off site lot), I saw that Economy had cars to rent at 3 times what we had our contract for. It's a scam. Save the aggrivation and headaches, don't rent from this place.
