Used Orbitz to rent a vehicle over New Years Day holiday (12/29)but had to cancel it due to my semi truck needing work. Called easirent.com and email them to no avail? Never answered the phone, never answered the emails. On the 30th afternoon called Orbitz since it was through them that I actually came to know about easirent.com.
Told them about my cancellation issues, they tried fo call and text to easirent.com and they also have not had any responds from easirent.com. so I'm out of my monies even though Orbitz had on their website cancel anytime... Once I read the reviews for easirent.com I realized I made a mistake into thinking I was about to save a few dollars... from the $250.00 deposit, to the $60.00 a day insurance.... to the outrageous waiting time just to get your rental 1hour+...... I would have been better off getting my rental from the big 6 rental car companies than to put up with their predatory methods. You Live and you Learn..
It operates out of a container like building in the furthest part of a car rental operation as no car rental coy operate directly out of Luton airport. There was one operator, we were trying to get our prebooked car while some-one else was trying to return his. Normally 4 work ( a so called manager we saw once as he worked pass and 2 go-fors.
While trying to sort out our rental which had been incorrectly booked he was constantly answering the phone about a missing car where the rentar was in hospital and could/would not answer his phone. The car was eventually found, unlocked, and so there was ecurity concerns. This was happening while he was supposedly helping me, the car returner and a family who said they had to wait over 4 hours to get their cat at 10.pm with 2 small children to tow.
Eventually they were not able to supply a car ( they offered various upgrades ( I wanted an A class with a GPS) and the operator are some shouting on my behalf offered to cancel the transaction. I accepted his offer, left the premises with my wife and waited for the bus to take us back to Luton airport. A woman in the queue offered her phone number as a witness.
Comes the credit card and Easirent have charged A$334.18 fo the hire of a car I did not see. They also precharged for petrol (gas) gfor this invisible car. THe car hire charge was 86.58 pounds with apayment charged of 167.68 pounds. THere are a number of signatures on paperwork perporting to be mine but they are not.
I ohoned (out of hours an a email address is given , that is dicontinued , I phoned in hours and they refer back to the web site where you cannot speak to any-one. You go in circles. I have contacted my bank who have put adispute on the charge, BUT BEFORE YOU RENT WITH EASIRENT.CO LOOK AT THEIR HISTORY. It is horrendous. I booked through CheapOair and it has put my future business with them in doubt. If they trade with Easirent then they mightn get tarred with the same brush and that is very hard to get off
