Driggs Title Agency Reviews

We worked with tricia hinrichs and kari from driggs title agency at the scottsdale, az location. We found tricia to be rude and we almost couldn't close on the house due to this agency. These people don't reveal their fees upfront and tack them on at the last minute with no prior information. In this case, tricia failed to get a disclaimer deed signed from us that is necessary to be done before closing. Since we are a military family, my husband was out of state then and we weren't even told that he had to sign this in person until the day before we were supposed to sign closing documents! on top of that, tricia went ahead and arranged a mobile notary and charged us $75 without telling us about this cost upfront. We only learnt about this when we saw the final fees document. Title and notary fees etc. Are supposed to be disclosed to the client upfront. Tricia did not do this and caused all kinds of problems at the last minute due to which our closing date was delayed and had to be postponed. Stay away from this agency!! tricia hinrichs is not only rude to deal with, but also totally incompetent and apparently only interested in making money since she charged us fees without disclosing them.

A $75 signing fee for coming into the office? We were charged for 'mobile signing' even though we went to a Driggs office for closing.

Even worse, this wasn't a '1 time mistake'. When our agent asked the escrow person about the fee, we learned that Driggs Title 'builds in' (aka hides) this fee on closings.

We feel Driggs Title is not transparent and unethical for doing this. Given how many closings this company does each month, how many HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of DOLLARS or more has Driggs Title hidden from clients?

I understand 'doc fees' etc but to charge for the act of signing is ridiculous. Since closing costs are thousands of dollars, they must figure that we wouldn't catch it or care about $75.

It wasn't our agent's choice to use this title company and we were advised that Driggs Title has a bad reputation among real estate agents. We will never use this company again.
