This is a fly-by-night operation engineered to rip off customers. When I realized the coverage was totally worthless, I called to cancel the coverage. This was in August. The representative initially insisted that my state (New York) required that I retain the coverage; this is a total lie, there is no such requirement. A little over 2 months later, the first week of November, I reviewed my credit card statement and discovered I was still being charged $395/month for the coverage. I called again and insisted on cancellation and requested a refund for September, October, and November, the period following my first call to cancel - a total of nearly $1,200.
Direct Health claimed that they had kept no record of the cancellation and that it was my fault for not more closely monitoring my credit card statement for fraudulent charges. These folks effectively said I could take a long walk off a short pier. They also flatly refused to refund the portion of November that remained following my second attempt to cancel, another $300 or so. In total, I was charged nearly $2,000 for worthless coverage and rip-off customer service. These people want nothing more than to get your credit card number and drain your bank account. Beware and stay away.
