This is a warning to anybody who has met Dereje Hawaz. This man is responsible for rape and molestation of underage family members on multiple occasions in different states. He initially began in California and has made his way through Washington State and now Pennsylvania. While his time in California and Washington State, he was raping and molesting a 16-year-old family member while my mother was pregnant with my youngest sister in 2000. Not only that… He would “claim” he was tutoring this 16-year-old but come to find out he was molesting her too during his “tutoring sessions” at home. Another incident took place in 2008 where he molested me (his eldest daughter) and had lied saying he was checking to see if I was a virgin… No father in the right mind would do this… He is in fact a pedophile and clearly demonstrates interest in 16-year-old girls.
(He even married his wife at 16 as a 27-year-old man… There is a pattern here.) This isn’t even half of the story because he was consistently physically, emotionally, and verbally abusing my siblings, mother and me throughout all of this. I know this because I am his daughter and lived with this monster. I was never allowed to question anything in this household because when I did, I would get beaten or emtionally abused for it and this eventually became conditioned behavior. I learned to believe that everything that man said was true. I was basically not allowed to have a brain. My father never cared for how others felt, everything was a means to an end for him. He knew the only way he had a chance to hide his lies was to silence us through fear which he did but that all came to an end last year when my relative spoke out to me about being raped and molested. I realized that I wasn’t alone in this twisted life as well.
When you meet him, he might come off as approachable but that is all an act. Behind closed doors, he truly is a cruel and cold monster. He is the most calculating and premeditating human being I have ever met. Please be aware that this man will do anything to give you the impression that he is a good guy because that is exactly what he did to me and my family. He knows how to sell himself. He values how others view him. I know this because I lived one hell of a reality until I decided to help myself last summer- when everything came out. I was a prisoner in my own home and shackled to this man’s madness. He broke me down piece by piece every day of my life. It is crazy how someone can have so much power over you and will try to control you. I don’t ever want another child to ever experience what I did. Please protect your children and family members. I would never leave my dog alone with this man, let alone children. Please, please be careful.
