I hired Dana Franco from an advertisement on Craigslist. Dana claimed that he had over 20 years’ experience as a plumber and was able and willing to work for me for our home renovation.
We hired Dana and he installed: all new pet-cocks; a new water pressure regulator he said we needed; a new HALO 5 Water system, which only eliminates chlorine in the water and barely softens the water for $3,400; a new hot water heater, which he didn't install correctly and after only 6 months has rusted out on top because he didn't tighten the nuts that held the pipes together and they leaked hard water onto the top of the water heater and corroded the connections. He also did not install an important water trap in the new gas line; He installed a new shower diverter in both bathrooms and had to replace the master 2 times because he didn’t install it correctly; 3 new toilets and new kitchen faucet. He also completed some small miscellaneous jobs that we asked to be done.
We paid Dana about $7,500 for all the plumbing work he did. It took him over 2 months to do it all because he kept leaving for other more important jobs and took weeks of me begging for him to come back and finish. He also insisted on getting paid upfront for many of the items because he said it cost a lot to purchase. Then he wouldn't show up for a week or more. Now we need to repair the items he promised to fix, but is nowhere to be found. He claims to be working in a mine in Colorado. I’m not sure how much plumbing work would be in a mine.
Now I need to hire a real plumber to fix much of his mistakes. DON'T HIRE DANA FRANCO, you will be very sorry!
