I specifically booked a room at this location on Jan 30 for a stay on Feb 2 because this facility had a pool and a hot tub. I was not told that the hot tub would be unavailable due to painting from 1/31 through 2/4. When we arrived, we checked again. We were not told again at check in that the hot tub was unavailable. If we had even known at check in, we would have went elsewhere. We unloaded the car, took everything to the room, the children changed into their swimsuits just to find out the hot tub was not in service due to painting, and the water level on the pool was extremely low.
I asked the manager to call me regarding the complaint and he did not. I had to call him on Feb 4. His name is Jose Herrea, and he just apologized, and offered no compensation other than possibly a free stay, but only at this location. He said though that even that would have to be approved from someone else.
I paid additional for a suite, and expect some sort of compensation for this room and the lack of amenities that looked to be fine and available when the room was booked on 1/30. Mr. Herrea became very argumentative on the phone, and basically told me he was sorry, but we used the room and stayed there so there wasn't anything he could do. When I asked for his managers information so that I could contact someone above him, he refused to give me any direct information and only referred me to marriott.com.
This manager needs to be addressed, this facility needs to be addressed
