Course Infotech Reviews

  • Apr 8, 2019

I was contacted by a "Recruiter" Chris Shaw from AdeccoStaffingGroup regarding a Senior Director of IT role at Johnson & Johnson. I assume that they pulled my resume off an online job board.

After being contacted, I was was encouraged to complete a SCRUM certification. Because I was already exploring this certification, I was okay with this. When I shared with the recruiter that I was already in the process of signing up for this certification, he asked which vendor. I provided him the details and he promptly replied back that J&J would not accept that vendors certifications. He then spent me a list of 4 vendors. 3 of the 4 vendors cost almost 5 times what the Course InfoTech certification that he provided me would cost. It wasn't much in the big scheme ($450) so I went ahead and said I would take the course.

He then asked me to send him my registration receipt so he could include it with my package to J&J (this SHOULD have been a flag). I did as he requested. A week later he contracted me again and said that I was scheduled to interview with Johnson and Johnson. The invite to the interview included a like to a J&J Human Capital Management Recruiter with J&J. I took a quick look at his profile and didn't think twice about it. On the day of the interview, I spoke with the gentleman. I was a little puzzled by the fact that his inbound call seemed to originate in Dallas but his Linked-In profile said he was in Cincinatti OH. Another flag was that the gentleman in the picture appeared to be African American but the interviewer had a very pronounced East Indian accent.

The interview went well or so I was told by the gentleman from J&J. After not hearing ANYTHING after a week from the the Recruiter at AdeccoStaffingGroup, I called him. He appeared to be caught off guard by my call. When I asked him for feedback on the interview and what next steps would be, he abruptly said that the position had been put on hold. I said thank you and asked that he let me know if things changed.

I started thinking about all of the little inconsistancies in this whole thing, so I started researching. The first thing that I did was go into my Voice Over Internet call logs and was amazed to discover that the SIP Address for all of the phone calls related to this who deal, appeared to originate from the same SIP Trunk. The call from the recruiter at AdeccoStaffingGroup, the call from the gentleman who interviewed me from Johnson and Johnson and the woman whom I had spoken to at Course Infotech. I then went looking for information about the gentleman who I was told was the Human Resource recruiter at J&J. I was able to find a video from a seminar that he had presented about Human Capital Management at Johnson and Johnson. Strangely enough, he had NO Eastern Indian accent at all.

When I asked an IT forensic analyst to identify the Mac Addresses and IP addresses in the SIP trunks from all three calls, they all show Mumbia public IP adresses.

I was able to get my money back from my credit card company, but I would like to make sure everyone is aware of this Scam and to double check when something like this happens. These people are the Lowest Form of Scum. I am fully employed seeking a new role, but the absolutely most vaunerable and desperate are those who are out of work and desperate for an opportunity.

As a follow up, I attempted to send an email to the "Recruited Chis Shaw" at AdeccoStaffingGroup and it bounced as not a valid email address. Of course the phone goes unanswered.
