CoStep contacted by student on a Student loan debt with Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Agency, which TGSL was threatening with a default student loan if the loan was not paid in full. I requested for a payoff but the Agency - TGSL aka Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Agency was not able to give me a payoff through the telephone - as requested. I then asked CoStep to find out the payoff amount to continue paying off through CoStep. CoStep faxed me an application from the Texas Guaranteed STudent Loan Agency with over the telephone amounts on my initlal loan. I asked what was my balance and CoStep mentioned to me that I would be given my final payoff once loan began. I was told that I would be paying the same amount of $50 per month with the same guidelines I had before through the TGSL application.

Payments of $50.00 were given to Norwest Bank - then merged with Well Fargo Bank and given the address to continue giving payments on my loan through the TGSL. From June 1998 through November 2003 I had been giving payments on my Student loan to Norwest bank and TGSL. When I switched to CoStep I was never given my final payoff amount, but on February 2015 found out that TGSL amount was $4900. On Novenember 2003, I had calculated that my amount owed was approximately $1600. However, CoStep fraudently and deceptive trade practiced false information on a NEW Application for the entire $4900, instead of the amount $1600 owed.

I have been paying since 2003, while I was a Charter School Teacher and through many hardships finding other jobs as a disable veteran. I would ask for my forbearance letters to annotate the times I was under the rulings for forbearance, but was told that they did not keep those letters sent to them. I kept sending payment from 2003 through August 2009. It was then when I decided to redo my loan with another bank, but on 2011 the banks were not giving me the totals owed, so I stop sending anymore payments. On Feb. 2015, I was sent through the TGSL agency my loan documents and submitted my concerns to the TExas Education Agency.

The biggest RIPOFF are the Texas Guaranteed STudent Loan Agency personnel that never took care of my requests and information given to banks that only misused my information with Identity Theft and incorrect debt creation.

I have had my Laredo Congressman Henry Cuellar's Office look into this matter for over seven months without any actions taken on a Company that was supported by a former Senator Kazen from Laredo, Texas since 1972.

Students should be aware on this Consolidate Bank that ruins students credit report and is part of an Organized Crime group.
