Costa Del Mar Sunglasses Inc Reviews

I purchased a pair of Costa sunglasses for $225. The are supposedly guaranteed for life. After a few months the metal wire that connects the frames near the nose piece separated from the rest of the wire frame. The tiny weld broke loose. I sent them to Costa for repair and they said it was damage done by me because I shipped them in a hard glasses case that fit the Costas too snugly in their opinion. Ridiculous! If the wire frame was not already broken there would have been no need to put them in that case and ship them in the first place. These guys are cheats and frauds. You can get better glasses at Walgreens for $25.

I purchased a $210 pair od Costa Del Mar sunglasses which come with a guaranteed Waranty. These sunglasses broke within 3 months of ownership and the repair shop attempted to get $70 dollars for repair work.

I have been really let down by this lack of honoring warranty and would like others to know about this. Broken pairs, of which there are many, can be bought on ebay.com for far cheaper than their repair shop.

I can't say how good, or bad, their sunglasses are. I orderd two pair (on the same order) and they lost the shipment. Their shipper's records documented to them that I never received the glasses but they still said they couldn't ship out replacements. Total B.S., that's why I can't rate their actual glasses; I never received what I ordered and I will not try ordering from them again.

I ordered a pair of costa sunglasses online, however they did not fit my face. I sent the glasses directly back to the returns address on the costa website. After three weeks of waiting for a refund, the returns director Wendy Woodard falsely stated that the lenses were scratched to avoid refunding my money. I stated on the phone that the returns facility had possession of these glasses for three weeks and I had not received any contact from the company about the damages. I have not received these glasses back or a refund and when I call they tell me to contact Fed Ex about the damages and lost package. This customer service and returns facility is a joke. Won't be purchasing any more apparel from Costa Del Mar!!

I am a fisherman and outdoorsman, and I have seen a lot of advertising about Costa Del Mar sunglasses and them being backed by a litefime warranty. I decided to give them a try, and I was happy with what I saw. However, in less than two years on of the arms broke at the hinge because they attached at the hinge by a small piece of plastic. I was not waooried because I knew about the lifetime warranty, and I would only have to pay the $11.95 waranty processing fee. To my dismay, I was told this was a normal break that needed to be paid by the cosumer. All in the repair and shipping were qouted at just under $60.00. It was then that I learned that the lifetime Warranty only covers product defects, and the defects are at the descreation of Costa Del Mar. I spoke to a local optomotrist, and he said he has yet to see any pair he has sold to be covered under the lifetime warranty. This is the last pair of Costas I will ever pay for. I have been completely satisfied with my Natives and the warranty that covers their product. Therefore, I will be sporting Natives from here on out. I am gussing Costas are geared for the want to be consumers that never head out into the outdoors. Not my type of product or company.

I needed a pair of temples for a pair of costas - did not expect it to be covered under warranty.

It will cost $62 for this. They don't have parts for this current frame - likely made by robots in china, and will send a new pair.

My optometrist (a costa dealer) tells me this is nearly his cost for this pair - that means costa is making nearly 100% of their profit on this repair.

Also, my optometrist says he has only seen one repaired under warranty in 10 years and that he no longer sends them in or advises people to do so. Rather - he just sell them a new pair at his cost (half of retail) and saves them the $10 shipping (which is 5x actual shipping cost) and the 3 - 4 week delay.
