Cosmetic Dentistry Grants Reviews

  • Jun 25, 2020

I was awarded grant money from the cosmetic dentistry grant program and they are refusing me of the services that they give to me. In doing so they are trying to make me forfeit the grant.

I'm not sure if this is considered a rip off report, but I definitely wanted to write this as a warning to others. I know when it comes to needing dental work, one can get desperate. On March 22,2018 I found their info online and decided to apply because I figured it couldn't hurt. Desperate times call for desperate meausures am i right?

So I filled out the application and received a call within half an hour. I was unable to answer, so they left a voicemail asking me to call back to conduct an "interview". I received an email as well, letting me know they left a voicemail. I was to call back for a woman named Bita Davis. I called back and she wasn't available so we set up an appointment for a call the next day at 1:15pm but was advised that if I didn't hear from them, to call around that time anyway.

Well the next day rolls around and no call from them, so I call in. I am placed on hold for 10 minutes and in that time, three other people come on and tell me to hold, as if they didn't keep track of the calls or like it was a call center where the calls were answered by everyone in general and they didn't keep track of who they had already placed on hold.

Someone finally answers and quickly hangs up before I could get a word out. I call back and explained I was hung up on, she was very polite, told me she would check to see if Bita was available. She immediately comes back and says Bita is on another line "setting up another customer" but that she could assist me. (I didn't get her name) She proceeded to explain that I would be going to a local dentist and that there is an initial fee of $50 to set up an appointment.

She stated it was just a precautionary measure because there are a lot of no-shows. She explained I would pay the $50, set up an appointmet, go in and get checked, and the dentist would come up with a treatment plan that we can both agree on. he would then submit that to Cosmetic Dentisitry grants for approval.

I explained that I didn't have the 50 now so I would have to call back. She let me know that was fine and to just call back Monday and offered to set up an appointment. She offered a few time and seemed irritated when i explained I worked 8-5 and could only speak to them from 1-2pm.

I then explained I would'nt have the deposit on Monday but can call her Friday. This is when her politeness took a turn for the worst. She stated I had to call Monday. That she needed the deposit by then in order to keep my account open or she would have to close it. I explained that she was makng me uneasy by pressuring me and she said "well you don't have to do it, I'm just doing my job"

Her attitude had completely changed and i couldn't understand why a few days made a difference. She stated "that's h*e the system works, i can't keep an account open without a deposit" I definitely felt that this was a tactic many scammers use. one of those "this is the last one in stock and if you don't get it now it'll be gone forever" type thing. Again, I don't know if this is a scam but I definitely wanted to advise people to be careful before they give they're card info to these people

The Cosmetic Dentistry Grants "Program " advertises "FREE dental Implants " above it's title when it appears on your browser list. When you fill out the information on their site a representative calls you back in something like 5 minutes ( ! ) telling you that you have been approved for a grant for your desired dental work. In my case, implants. A "Sarah Peters" leaves a message in a super fast talking, car salesman like diatribe and it doesn't sound too authentic. Ok, right there one should be suspicious. How many grants are given to a person instantly. Grants usually take months of paperwork and sign offs to be approved. When I asked Sarah where the money came from I was told that it was provided by "Sandy " who works in their office. Not very solid sounding financial credentials. They do require a $50.00 deposit to go to the participating Dentist near you. Luckily, I gave them the wrong card number so they were not able to run the charge. I now read here, on the Rip off site, that they do not return the $50.00 even though they promise to. They did become insulting and short tempered when I decided not to follow up with the appointment after being told that it would only be a partial grant . When I asked for what percentage of the final cost to expect they balked . BUYER BEWARE. I also have to be suspicious of the Dentist who is working with them on this "program ".

I am writing this report regarding Cosmetic Dentistry Grants. I am not one to say that they are

a ripoff, I will let you decide. I called them because I need dental work done. I have not worked

in a few years, after I was laid off. I had been taking care of my elderly parents.

Since I do not have much money, a friend told me to look into this grant program, so I did. I

did read reviews on this grant program. It was 50/50, so I did take my chances. When I called

I was told that I would need to give $50.00 and that was to secure my appointment. I was told

that if I kept my appointment the $50.00 would be refunded. I kept my appointment and after I

found out that this dentist was charging triple my amount (another dentist quoted me $4,000, this

denitst from CDG quoted me 12,000). The dentist office had me wait for about 45 minutes after my

exam and then a lady name Sarah came back (who spoke loudly) and informed me that the CDG

would only pay 2800 towards my 12,000 dental bill and I would have a balance of over 8,000.

So since I cannot pay the 8,000 plus, I asked Sarah when would I be receiving my $50.00 back. She

told me that I would not because that paid for my x-ray and office visit. Now mind you, when I went

into the office, they took my Medi-cal card. I asked Sarah if they accepted Med-cal and she said they

do. Now Medi-cal pays for my office visit and x-rays (I went to a dentist 6 months earlier). When I

called CDG to let them know what happened, I got a rude girl, who constantly interrupted me, and she

told me that no one told me that. I informed her that I was told that, and she grew more nasty. She

was not kind, understanding or sympathetic to my needs.

I know it was just $50.00 (and I think that office will also use my Medi-cal card), but I do not like

people or organizations who are nice to you in the beginning to get what they want, and then treat

you like you have leprosy after they got everything they wanted. Those reviews of people who are receiving

large sums of grant money is questionable. I just want people to beware. I do not believe they are

a trustworthy company. Maybe others had an excellent experience with CDG but I did not and I will

never recommend or deal with them again.

I saw this ad for grants for dentistry. they offer implants root canals, caps, fillings. all dentistry. I filled out thier form and they contacted me. told me what theirprogram offers. They would send me to one of their dentist. I would have to pay 50 dollars that would be refunded to me upon my visit. i would have to also pay 50 dollars for xrays. she told me that I would first have to be seen by the dentist. he would send the plan to the grant company and i would wait to see how much they would offer for the grants or not. No guarantee. so I told her that I wanted to thik about it. The next day I got a denial for the grant company telling me that they were unable to now help me.
