Colorado River Adventures Reviews

I purchased shares in CR in 2015 and eventually paid in full. I sold my rv due to health issues and called to ask about the sale of my shares which were discussed during the initial sales pitch. They then said they didn't do that. So they lied during the sales pitch. They then said they could send me info on a company in Florida that would help. I paid $350 to this company they referred me to.

They took my money and never did a thing. They never sent me copies of any ad they took out, nothing. I continually called them and never got calls back. So now I'm out that money as well. I called CR to then just relinquish my shares, which I was told I could do when they sent me to this other scam sales office in Florida.

They said OK! but kept sending bills. I called back to remind them that I relinquished my shares. They said OK! Never did they send me paperwork or anything to sign. They just kept sending dues bills. I paid up until December 2019 and then just stopped because these idiots are just that.... idiots and scammers.

I have now been sent to collections as of August 2021. I called today (8/25/21) since I received the collections paperwork on 8/24/21. They said it is out of their hands at this point and told me to call the collections agency. I hung up and called Mark, at Aspen Collections, who apologized for the dilemma and told me that CR could take me out of collections. So I called CR back and she hung up on me. She won't take my calls now.

Whew! just getting started, have to post to yelp and so forth too, until i build my own cra scamion website...

Warning...I don't want to be accused by them of libel, so let me know if you see anything libelous...

Written and posted 4-23-19:

I'm a paid up member of colorado river adventures. Their headquarters is in az. Members refer to it as cra.

They have an rv timeshare park off i-10 in beaumont, ca, called cherry valley lakes rv resort, hereafter referred to as cvl, 36805 brookside ave, cherry valley, ca 92223.

On the night of saturday, 4-6-19 at approximately 1:25 am., i was awakened by eight gunshots at cherry valley lakes rv resort, hereafter referred to as cvl

How did i know they were gunshots? Because i raised up in my bed, looked out the bedroom window of my trailer, and saw flames shoot out approx 1 foot from the barrel of what must have been a semi-auto pistol each time i heard "bang-bang-bang”...About 15 yards away from my trailer. The flames were pointed toward the large paid storage area of the park.

The park has about 100 rv spaces With power and water) for visiting timeshare members, and probably 100-200 stored vehicles in the fenced in paid storage area. The paid storage area is about as large as the timeshare spaces and is completely enclosed with warning signs offering a $5,000 reward for info leading to arrest of anyone found breaking and entering the storage area.

Timeshare members must obtain a key to the gate to enter the storage area from the ranger station which operates only 8 a.M. To 4:00 pm. Daily. Several of the timeshare rv spaces for visiting members are easily within gunshot range of the storage area.

After seeing the flames from the barrel 45 feet away, i immediately rolled out of my queen size bed and hit the floor of my trailer to protect my body. I froze for about 5 minutes before i got up to check if the shooter was still there Obviously the lights were off inside my trailer) and saw a "golf cart" go behind my trailer along the storage fence headed toward the ranger station up front. There's no way for members to directly call "after hours" park security in the middle of the night, park rangers can only be called by going to the ranger station and using a "walkie talkie" to call the after hours park ranger. Otherwise the only solution is to call 911.

I debated whether to call 911 while i was lying on the floor hearing "bang-bang-bang..." eight times at about 1 shot per second...I decided the golf cart going by was probably the after hours security person going to the ranger station...Maybe someone else already called 911 and he/she was going to meet the beaumont police there...

Cvl/cra hires part-time people to operate as park security because they don't have to pay for benefits under ca law if they work less than, i think, 32 hours per week. Some of them are cra timeshare members, who get a "free, permanent, rv space" in lieu of being paid more than about $ 15 /hr. Some of them are full time.

The people who work security, expecially night time, stay at the park, because, well, you're in cherry valley right next to beaumont. Halfway between san bernardino and palm springs. You can find it with maps.Google.com, and even see it with google earth or street view. These people are not professional security services, the do both park security and park maintenance like electrical, water, sweeping, trash into the dumpsters, cleaning, etc.

They have no firearms training or professional security training and no professional gun training provided by cra/cvl. They often come from az since cra is headquartered in az at the colorado river -- parker dam, az.

The pistols they own are personal -- i guess. Not official cra pistols provided by cra - as far as i know.

Unfortunately, rv travelers often don't realize that ca has stricter firearm laws than many other states like az. I've never seen a firearm being brandished by a park employee, but i think some of them, especially the night security who is responsible for the storage area, hide pistols in their golf carts while driving around.

I was very afraid seeing flames leap out a foot only 15 yards outside my trailer since a bullet from even a handgun can easily penetrate the lightweight aluminum siding of an rv trailer...I think you get the picture.

In addition, there is other negligence at cvl. The lighting of the storage area and in the timeshare row where i was located is extremely poor, which is why it was so dark that i couldn't even see the shooter outside my trailer 15 yards away. All i saw was orange flames a foot long firing toward the storage area each time i heard "bang-bang..." as i said, i only saw two of the eight flashes because i hit the floor right away so i wouldn't be killed...

1. Later, i called the beaumont pd about it. The officer looked up the records and said they had a 911 call at that time, at the cvl resort, but it wasn't me who called 911, so someone else heard it too...

2. Someone could be accidentally killed...

3. Wouldn't carrying a firearm in your golf cart, even if you are authorized security for cra, and they allow you to carry firearms, require a concealed carry permit for the state of ca.?

4. I knew a guy who worked cvl security two years ago. He worked the midnight shift. He had to monitor the storage area. He told me he was told to call 911 if necessary. I think cra's employment policy doesn't allow their security people to carry guns...

5. Severe emotional distress...Don't stay at cvl in the row next to storage...

Feel free to call me and/or send me any other Scamion, i'll include them when i get the cra Scamion website built next week. Oh, btw, i've heard that they are selling new timeshare memberships without telling new members that they are limited to 5 stays per year at cvl...That i heard from a new timeshare member...

I feel that I was ripped off mislead and now being threatened I plan to file a small claims suit against CRA the should be ashamed they take money from families and those wanting to get away and relax .once you pay all the fees you cant pay for the gas to get to the 1 star resort. I could of gotten a Good Sams membership for 60 dollars a years and a national parks pass for a lot less than the 188 dollars a month and 350 non existant maintaince fees. All I want is to get my down payment back and be out of their contract. Im tired of being lied to and threatened by CRA. Take my advice do not buy into the today only lie

A fast talking salesperson told me for 5 years we would get a package program with free entry into RV parks no dudes or membership fees because we had our own camper, and this package is not like timeshare, also added other sister companies like Coast to Coast where you can travel around the world just to find out that the company is separate from them, and have there own fees. I paid Colorado rivers 131.00 for 12 months and stop paying it because when I tried to reserve something they always's wanted money or was booked up. Told them I don't want this any more and they keep sending me late fees and threatening letters. Saying they are going to send it to collections. The whole situation was just a great big Lie! Nothing went the way I was told! I feel like they are harassing me for money, What am I paying 131.00 a month for?? I have wrote them numerous times and no answer just a bill continuously adding up with interest and late fees. Please help.

I just thought i'd add my experience. It looks like they offer a $100 gas card as an incentive to visit their property and sit through a 90 minute pitch. Don't count on receiving the gift card. They have as many excuses as to why you don't qualify for the incentive as bayer has pills. Nice property, but honesty doesn't come with it.
