Elderly Rip off

contacted rescue repair after finding the online listing, and "affordable" service call ($45(which ended up not so reasonable), was told someone would get back to me later, and Terry did, he addrived at my 80 year old fathers home in Covington, after dark on a Saturday night to repair a 6yr old Sears washer, which had not worked proeprly for awhile, he diagnosed the washer as needing a "pump" of some sort, and as agreed in initial request for service he would also look at the gas stove as well, which had not been used for awhile for the same house call fee..as it turned out the stove needed only a part according to him for the oven, the burners came right on..he proceeded to write up an estimate for reapair for that exceeded $500 (way off from the advertized service call) he wanted 1/2 down to order parts and claimed he would be back the "next" day, which was Sunday, I questioned that he said he had 7 day access, My dad gave him cash, he wrote out the receipt and save his work was warrantied for 90days, the next day, no one called or showed up. I called him, said he would have the part the next day, (Monday) he then reuterned within a days or so, with parts for both the oven and the washer, said he found several objects in the washer rocks, coins and nails etc,. i thought unusual (?,), he replaced aparts for both appliances, said the oven worked fine and the washer needed to run several cycles per too much detergent (and the wrong detergent per front load washer needed special soap) and use vinegar, my family did this a few times, only only for the error message to appear again and water still holding in tank, per not completed cycle...after sseveral calls to both numbers, to date now over a month, no response...and he was paid the remaining balance with a check and charge extra because of the check.,..."no credit cards taken" or I would have a recourse throught the back...unfortunately too late to stop the check...total rip off artist..taking advantage of the elderly...not good...stay far away from this company!!! stilll researching options for actions against this con artist...

Called Rescue Appliance Repair to sceduled an immediate emergency refrigerator repair. Refrigerator was completely dead, no lights or signs of operation. Amy Garcia answered my call to the business and advanced my plea for service. Hours later, late at night, Terry Haynes showed up. He proceeded to dismantel and probe the back of the refrigerator.

Unassembling and tugging on various parts, a stream of high pressure water sprayed the area and he claimed to immediately turn off the water supply. Hurridly stuffing all the components back into the refrigerator, he proceeded to exit the home. Before leaving, he proclaimed the water was stopped and the refrigerator needed a circuit board. He wrote up an invoice and asked for an advance payment which I paid with the promise of returning the next morning.

After repeated calls to Amy who was answering the business phone and multiple promises later, he was a no-show. Most of a day passed before water was discovered leaking in the basement trough the wood floors above. The refrigerator leak caused significant water damage.

Days later, another appliance repair company disabled broken water lines and restarted the refrigerator, no circuit board needed. Terry Haynes does not know what he is doing, has no insurance to cover damages he causes and does not return phone calls.
